Before was light in your eyes

Was light in his

You were the fuel for the flame

You spread with each day like, like gasoline from a sprinkler

So his heart was consumed

And so his arms spread to:

Warm

Keep safe

Reassure

Now, his fire gone

A chill sets in, and you pull yourself close

With alone feelings and clouded vision

But …

Open your arms, as he did to you

And embrace him, there in your heart (consumed in cold)

Let his memories:

Warm you

Bring a thaw

Burn bright, always

With love.
