best girlfriend ever
So yeah. . . I'm going to be *that guy* today. I have absolutely the BESTEST BEST GIRLFRIEND EVER. She mailed me a Valentine's Day care package today. Due to the mail system it arrived a day early, but same difference. Anyway, she got me a package of socks AND a coaster. (She knows me so well.) AND, in addition to a perfectly lovely card, she got me a plush toy owl from a very famous toy store in London -- I know it's famous because the tag on the owl says so itself. The owl is seriously cute.
I suspect she got me the owl because, for Christmas, I got her a toy guinea pig. She loved it beyond all expectations. I convinced her to name him "Jaws," and now she talks about Jaws all the time. I.e., "My cat wanted some attention today, so he knocked over Jaws and all the books on my bedstand!"
My girlfriend's boyfriend, however, is a complete and total lout. He procrastinated and procrastined, so his V-Day gift to her will actually arrive Wednesday -- the day AFTER Valentine's Day. It's not *entirely* my fault, though. I'm roses delivered to her office at work, and I WOULD have made the appropiate deliverary deadline IF her university had bothered to put her office building address on their website! In consequence, I had to wait until this morning to ask her, rather awkwardly, "So, out of idle curiosity and apropos of absolutely nothing at all, what exactly is the exact address of your workplace?"
I'm kinda worried that roses arriving on Wednesday will be seriously lame. I'm idly pondering *pretending* not to have gotten my care package until the day after V-Day, just so we're even. .. but, alas, I probably won't.
