Life is weird. Ok, so latey I've really been getting back into the Beatles. Coincidentally, the other night there was a special on HBO with all this footage from John Lennon's life. Watching that lead me to look up some stuff on him online, and I found out that Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass were his favorite books. Today I saw a quote from one of those two books (I don't know which since I haven't read them) in Kirsten Walleck's away message. So I looked up the books and I'm going to buy them when I go to Barnes and Noble to buy Great Expectations for Enlgish. Anywho, my friend Andrew from Canada asked me if I had read Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius today and I told him that I had, so I gave him some help writing a paper on it. That inspired me to grab my copy of Labyrinths, a collection of Jorge Luis Borges' (the author of Tlon) most famous short stories. I opened to the next story that I hadn't read after Tlon and it happened to have a quote from Through the Looking Glass at the top of the page. Strange. So I read the story, called The Circular Ruins, and it sent shivers down my spine. The story really freaked me out. It's really weird because I was reading on Wikipedia about how the Alice stories are horror to some people, since they deal with perspective on reality and insanity and all. I don't want to go to bed because I'm afraid of having a nightmare. I'm really bugged out right now.
