Can it be? Hath my time finally come? [A deep sigh and a muffled shifting of cloth against cloth] Elaine, are thou here? I finally arrived, milady. Owain is playing amongst the trees, I take it! Come out, boy, and greet thy sire! Thy training with the sword one day may come in handy, my son.
[Another sigh, even deeper than the last] My passing

...Cyan!
You're not dead--or you shouldn't be, as far as I know. Where are you, in the forest?
[Cue footsteps and some rustling as she dons outdoor wear.]

...Lady Terra. I hath thought--Kefka wilst not live to see another day! I hath found myself near a lake, 'tis quite cold for the land of the dead.

If you can follow the river feeding into the lake, we might meet each other on the way. There's a town nearby and I can guide you there.

[Shifting snow and muffled footsteps] I see that river thou spoke of, I will move along it.

I need to be certain it's really you. Kefka's here, and he has a habit of disguising himself as an ally. What can you tell me that Kefka wouldn't know? What was that shiny thing that Gau wanted to show you and Sabin?
[At least Sabin had told her about that little adventure, and she couldn't possibly imagine Kefka knowing the answer to that.]

Thou art being wise, milady. For thine first question... [Cyan pauses and takes a deep breath.]My son was called Owain and he was the age of young Relm. Elaine was my wife and thou dost hath her nature. [He looks downards as he spoke, clearly remembering his family. After speaking about that he looks up.]
As for thine other question, tis was a diving helmet that we used to cross the Serpent Trench. However, Sir Gau stole five hundred gil from Sir Ssbin and gave us a potion before that.

I'm glad to see you again, Cyan. I'll teleport us to the clothing shop, where your items should be. Then I can explain as best I can, when we're out of the cold.

[Cyan walks closer to her, for ease of the magic. He's wary, but Cyan has always been a tad wary of Terra. Her naivety and caring nature, however, eases his wariness.]

I don't know why we can't just keep our normal clothes when arriving here, especially when they're easily retrieved, but this places has some strange rules.
[She begins looking around, certain they'll come across his familiar garb sooner or later. While that happens, she begins to explain at last.]
We're not dead, but we're not in our world any longer. This is a realm called Luceti, and many people are brought here from many worlds.

[He looks and spots a familar blue piece of armor. He grabs it and looks at it. Without looking up, he answers Terra.]
Luceti, strange. If thou art certain...at least I know.

[Terra seems about to say something else, but Cyan is new and there's much to tell him. So, she continues while reaching for his cape, to hand it over.]
Many people are brought here from many worlds. I'm not exactly sure how that happens, but the important part is that there is a scientist organization called the Malnosso. They keep us trapped beneath a large barrier that surrounds this realm, and they never show themselves. No one has ever successfully breached it so far, at least on from within. We're kept here because...they use us for their experiments.
[There's a slight twitch--she does not want to talk about being a test subject once more, but it must be done.]

[He would say more but he bites his tongue. She doesn't need to hear it; he continues looking for more of his clothes.

[She shudders but perks up, trying to give him some good news.]
A lot of the Returners are here, already. Most of us except Shadow live in a house north of town. If you wish, you're welcome to join us there. We still have plenty of room...but I understand if you want your own place, too. At least you won't have to pay for anything while you're here. Any unoccupied dwelling can be claimed.
