best channel on cable tv? maybe. ranges from nfl and ncaa football to poker, bowling, and sometimes darts. and sportscenter is the best sports show in the history of sports shows. - igor stravinsky:
the firebird and the right of spring made me want to study music. symphony for wind instruments and three pieces for clarinet made me want to quit. and after playing most of his work, he is undoubtedly one of the best composers of all time. - lord of the rings:
the books are great stories written well. the films take what is good about the books and concentrates it, even refines it. return of the king is one of the most powerful film experiences ever.

revolutionary. undeniably brilliant. responsible for one of the best films of all time (pulp fiction) and one of the most fun films of all time (kill bill). i read the script of kill bill beforehand, and felt the miike undertones in the writing right away.
"no way he can do what miike does for american audiences" i told myself. and there it was on screen, someone getting gutted and decapitated with huge arterial spray and a gigantic stretched lip. awesome.

hands down one of the best shows i have ever seen. almost every character is sheer brilliance. how many amazing side characters can you name? how many times has a side character made you literally bust out laughing? i can't even count that high.
apu, comic-book store guy, ralph wiggum, prof. frink, the mexican bee, kent brockman, mcbain, herman, milhouse, mr. burns, rod and tod flanders, lurleen lumpkin, moleman, cletus the slack-jawed yokel, nelson... i could go on. - zach braff:
introduced to him as john dorian, as part of the amazing show scrubs. and while garden state isn't brilliant, it's pretty damn good for a first movie.
