Also, being a guy that knows his gadgets, as you appear to be, do you know if any of these newer palm pilots/PDA jobbies with cameras are actually worth the money?

You can get the Palm Zire 71 which has a 1.3 megapixel camra built-in or the Nokia 7610 has a megapixel camera built-in.

the HP iPaq with the built in camera is VERY tasty, and much worth it.

We have many for 'testing purposes' at work (so we can develop/sell our software on them). They are excellent.

The camera on them is a 1.3mp one, low noise, good focus.

However no phone, if you want a phone you really can't do better than the SonyEricsson s700i, I just got one and its camera is the best on the market by far.

People seem to agree if i go for a phone, this is the one to get. Seems a little on the pricy side for my limited budget (outright it costs more than my laptop) but the Zire 72 may do the trick, though i will have to continue with the old nokia 3510 to actually talk to people. oh well.
