I was rummaging through my shed looking for something and I came across the spear head that I bought a couple of faires ago and misplaced and then it got rusty and was then put somewhere safe so I could fix it up at some point.
I decided to fix it up I removed the rust and it looked ok so I thought I wonder if I could make a shaft for it, I found an surplus tent pole that seemed nice and long and found a plane and a rasp that would probably be useful to put a point in the shaft that would fit the spear head.
It actually took quite a bit of shaping because the socket for the head was quite a narrow cone, but it's all ready now and the entire shaft is stripped back to the bare wood just awaiting some linseed oil, one delay, the spear head is hardened so making a hole in it to attach the head to the shaft proved too much for my standard drill bits, so may have to get that done but someone with better equipment than me, but all in all I am pretty happy with it.
