CHINA: MILK!

Kristin Peach: "Hey Jim, What's milk like in China?"

Kristin, upon walking into a grocery store, you will see what appears to be shelves and shelves of milk. My first time shopping, I bought a carton. I took it home. I flipped the lid. I got a real good mug. I poured it and discovered it was not milk at all! A thick, white, pasty liquid slopped into my mug: yogurt. I went back to the store. Sure enough, all those fancy cartons were yogurt (some cartons have medals around them, mugs, and a variety of other things taped to them!). Where was the milk?

Not milk.

Not milk.

Not milk.

Not milk.

Milk! Milk in little bags?? Milk in little bags!!

Bag milk tastes like Half and Half-- the kind on restaurant tables in little white plastic cups we all like to drink straight when no one is looking. I can deal with that... but don't get me started on the wine with whole snakes inside the bottle!

Tomorrow I say goodbye to the children. I will be home March 24th.
