Inkwash
I have to do a couple of paintings done in inkwash and it's really really REALLY hard. One turned out okay, but the other one is giving me all kinds of trouble. I try to learn technique by looking at the artwork of the great Yoshitaka Amano and the classic Chinese inkwash paintings but MAN... it's friggin HARD.
I spent all weekend on, like 5 pictures and out of those I have ONE good one, and even that one isn't as good as my first test painting... argh. The worst part is that you kinda have to do it all at once because it has an entirely different quality if you do it one section at a time like in other kinds of paintings (even watercolor to some degree).
