Just for fun... trust me, it IS fun
If any of you know me, then you will know that I have a near-insatiable appetite for games. I love games, ESPECIALLY game non-linear games like roleplaying games. It’s been friggin forever since I played or ran such a game and it just hit me that I could potentially do this (quite well) over livejournal.
The way it works is this:
-you choose who you want to play as
-I tell you what’s happening (and post diagrams if necessary)
-you tell me what you want to do.
-I tell you the results of your actions.
It’s incredibly simplistic. If anyone’s interested, reply to this and I’ll put you on a special screening list, that way no one else besides who’s playing will see what you are doing and what is happening to you (and hopefully protect your reputation from becoming that of a tremendous nerd!). By the way, you don’t have to have played these sorts of games before to understand what’s going on or appreciate it, like I said, it’s incredibly simplistic. If you know anyone else who would be interested in participating in this, tell them about it too. They’ll have to be on my ‘friends’ list if they want to participate. It is Fantasy themed (elves, dwarves, goblins, etc) because fantasy has a lot more variety than Sci-Fi themed games.
The one and only requirement for playing is that you check your ‘friends’ page once a day, which really isn’t going to be that big a deal once this gets going. This is more an issue of if you would be willing to check your friends list once a day rather than if you do it already.
The first screened post will display a list of potential characters to choose from and a general rundown of the game. For all intents and purposes, it will be on a first come first serve basis when it comes to character selection.
