The Dell order is A NIGHTMARE. They keep asking me for ID, saying they are not satisfactory. They want me to get a PAP form signed and stamped by my bank but they systematically OMIT to attach the PAP form in the email

What an ass! I would say, for people like that, just kick them the hell out...fuck that noise. You are too good of a person to have to deal with that, and sadly part of being such a person also entails taking out the trash that will tend to try and cling to you. >_< I hate people that take advantage of anothers kindness, in turn making that person angry and resentful of their goodness

He sounds like a nightmare house guest who has no sense of manners or politeness. I was always taught that, when you stay at someone's place, you should offer to buy a grocery order, bring a thank-you gift for your host, and take them out to a nice supper on your last night there. This guy was a complete ass, and it's not all in your imagination. It's certainly not because you're a grumpy old bachelor. You were doing him a favour, and he was a jerk about it.
It depends on the situation, though. We've had people stay with us for long stretches (a month or more), because they've lost their jobs and couldn't afford to be on their own. Knowing someone is in a bad place financially changes the expectations, at least with us. It sounds like your bad-mannered house guest knew you're a student and not earning a lot of money, yet he abused your hospitality. That's just rude.
Yeah I've been in that situation. I had to live with the person for a year though...it was horrific. Actually, I've lived with two people like that which is why room mates are not something I seek out anymore. He sounds like he's temporary though, but still, you shouldn't have to put up with that crap.
