I always remember the Hitler quote of "people will believe any lie if it's big enough".

That seems to explain this strategy. If you do the wrong thing well enough it may seem right? Much like if Clinton would have said "hells yeah a banged that chick and many others" there would have been no impeachment.

They would have gotten him for something but yeah, it's ASTOUNDING what people will forgive in a good economy if you're not a total scumbag about it. It's almost like they realize what actually matters. Nuts, huh?
