This past Friday at MSL (main street lounge). They did there first official Goth Prom, first official because last year my group of friends and I decided to do a prom theme ourselves. They had the place decorated with strips of paper, balloons and a punch bowl.
I even talked my little sister Nat. into coming into Louisville to go to to it with her friend Ken. Yet I could not get her to get dressed up. Even though I had a nice black sleek dress in her size she could wear, I guess she just wanted to stand out in her 'normalcy'. Most of the night I spent taking pictures, save for Dancing to 'I walked with a Zombie' that DJ Spook played for me, since he knows how much I love that song.
There was some really nice outfits, though the club seemed a little sparse. Mainly due to it being part of Derby night/weekend (a big event where a bunch of people come out, get very drunk, bars stay open to 6am, then they all to the track on Saturday for horse racing.) So a lot of the regulars where out at other parties or staying in to avoid the tourism over-flow.
Last year when we did Prom, at the last moment I decided not to dress up for it, (I had attended a funeral that day for my Aunt Eva), I can only wear one suit a day..
This year I went all out, getting myself a actually tux and corsage for Amanda to match her dress.
