My darling wife got me a
Chumby for Christmas! I've been wanting one ever since they first came to market. ^_^
The Chumby is sort of a Wi-Fi clock / internet radio player / digital picture frame that has a touch screen and is able to play "
widgets" which are Flash files, games, and other nunyas.
For example, in addition to being a clock, I can get news feeds from the Onion, watch Shamu's webcam at Sea World, keep track of my eBay auctions, get news on videogame deals at Amazon.com, slideshow my photos from Flickr or Photobucket, view my Netflix queue, and listen to internet radio stations like Shoutcast or Pandora. (Also, the "
Abe Vigoda Status" widget gives me up-to-the-minute info on whether or not Abe Vigoda is still alive.)
Chumby is always on and always connected - and it's soft and cuddly to boot.
I've already set up a ton of widgets for it, and here is a virtual version of my Chumby, with what many of them look like...
Anyway, just a little post-Christmas product review. Hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday.
