A new life

Who: Roscoe, anyone who feels like showing up
Where: His new home
When: The morning after moving out and saying goodbye to Axel

The first morning at the new Casa Dillon under the bridge is spent making his environment more livable. He digs a hole for a toilet in the bushes, a few feet away from the doorway. And builds a makeshift fireplace out of rocks in front of the door, sheltered by the bridge. A bit of exploring and scavenging scores some discarded old pipes which he welds together to make a drying rack for clothes; it looks ugly and is of possibly dubious stability, but should do the job for now. And Stella gets her own special spot in the sun next to the bridge (of course he’ll take her inside at night and when the weather seems bad!)

Mind you, he’s paranoid about someone possibly stealing Stella, so he sits down and starts to build a protective booby trap that should keep people away from both her and his settlement. Naturally, he brought his tools and some raw materials with which to tinker; they’d obviously be needed. It takes a couple of hours, but he’s soon rigged up a primitive electric fence which runs along the ground and is fairly difficult to spot unless you know what to look for. It encircles the area he’s claimed as his, and crossing it will result in an unpleasant shock. Roscoe is extremely territorial, and likes his privacy.

He actually doesn’t mind his new digs. Obviously he’d rather be living in style back at Rock Bottom, but can’t handle being there right now. However, he tends to live in ramshackle digs anyway when not being cared for by someone else, so it’s not like he expects great comfort. Still, it would be nice to have a shower and real toilet, and he still needs to scavenge or steal a blanket….and finding food will be a challenge. But he has Stella for company, and he’s far away from the sources of his pain, so he feels oddly content. If only one of his ladyloves were there to share it with him…

under the bridge, stella
