So, after the SHIELD experiment, a somewhat curious notion occurred and appeals to me:

The idea of running an event in which people are invited to turn up as themselves, and be themselves. Only, as outlined through the brief/chargen process, they are actually Something Else that is attending the social occasion in the guise of their everyday self.

What will you do about the special snowflakes who want to play themselves?

Naturally, I will write them a detailed and personal brief on how to play themselves.

It may involve copying and pasting sections of their social media (Facebook/LJ) to tailor the brief.

(Though, knowing the limits of social media, the brief may be a poor/exaggerated reflection of a few facets of the individual...)

Or, y'know, they don't get a brief and I tell them to, well, be themselves.

A friend of mine used to play in a table top where the players played themselves, thrown into increasingly unstable RP worlds. She loved it.
