Mr Edgeworth, I trust this will suffice as evidence.

The photographs that follow illustrate the evidence given to me by my associate, which he collected from the house of Alexis Hargreaves.

Excellent work, Lord Cain. This will be perfect-- I shall need to examine them further for a forensics examination, but these images will go on record.

As you wish, this will be kept quiet. Prosecutor Gavin and Mr. Sasha Nein are highly trustworthy, and we should probably keep this as quiet as possible until we are able to see who exactly we can trust within the police force.

Thank you. Of course. As it stands, there's no proof that this isn't just green ink. A verification that this is Emerald Forest will help our investigations greatly.

I agree Mr Nein is quite trustworthy, though I'm not acquainted with Prosecutor Gavin. If you feel he is trustworthy, and you've made him privy to details related to this, then I shall trust your judgment.

My concern is that, should my father or anyone with whom he associates, hear of this, he will immediately disappear, and we'll be left with nothing but proof and evidence, but no guilty party.

Furthermore, after Blitza's death, I don't want some half mad vigilante stealing my revenge from me.

I'll get to work on it right away, then. I shall come by the Opera House tonight by seven, and collect it-- and I understand your fears entirely. While Mr. Blitza's death was most unfortunate, the fact that it happened at all makes it vital that no information from what we are doing gets leaked. I should hope your agent within your father's ranks can be kept silenced as well.

I have not informed Prosecutor Gavin yet, but he has been working with me. He was the reason I involved myself in this case, with him having been the victim of poisoning by Emerald Forest.

Perhaps this makes the reason a lot more personal, but we are men of the law, and none of the other Citizens need to bend to the whims of such madmen. As for yourself, Lord Cain... I hope this will help you correct your personal problems with your father as they rightfully should be handled. He will be brought to justice.

Very well, I shall expect you then. So long as I can keep the indigos and absinthe flowing, he should be content. I doubt that he'd be willing to announce what my father did while still in his ranks. That would be suicide, and he dislikes a mess on his capes. Nor is it his style to take this sort of thing into his own hands. He sees to his own affairs and no one else's.

I see. Then it would make sense to have him included in this.

He is difficult, if not impossible, to bring to justice-- This is more of the same thing it always was with us-- What do I hope to accomplish with this?--

Thank you. I certainly trust that he will be.

Your father was the one who ordered Mr. Airflyer to fill those machines with poison? I must say, that's a stunning and significant amount of data we can use in our favor. I will not be mentioning any of this information outside of our group, lest we lose the initiative to both the police and the criminal.

Like always, I'm on call if you require my help with anything, Lord Cain. There is one thing that is bothering me though: who is the assistant that got the sample from your father? If it is too dangerous to mention his name, then act as if I never asked that question.

That is how it appears. It is most stunning, though not a complete surprise to me--it's a poison from my world, and only my world so far as I know. He's the only one who might have it aside from me--. Why else would he have the same poison in his possession that was used in the machines? I believe he ordered the machines built, not just filled with poison. And the name Carlyle goes nowhere on the Network, so it must be an alias.

Thank you, I would appreciate that silence for the moment. And I shall remember that and be certain to call on you if need be.

His name is Dominique Crehador, and he's a magician of sorts, a charlatan more like, but my father was interested in his supposed abilities for some time. I've used him as a source of information, so long as I pay for it. It's become a matter of who can buy him, my father or me. For the moment, the indigos I'm willing to send have kept him on my side.

So you see the other side of my need to keep this quiet: my father may know that Mr Crehador has sent this to me.

It seems to all make sense now. Not to discard what you've discovered, but I imagine your father has some sort of connection with whomever conducted the other poisonings. My concern lies is the execution of these crimes, and the well-being of citizens and the police. Lord Cain...be on you guard as well, since the very enemy is your own father.

Your contact sounds like a double-edged sword. I'd be weary, considering what you just said. I'll keep quiet about all of this, for everyone's sake.
