[Blink--and there's chaos for a moment, dark and light, a ceiling, a glimpse of fingers and a face. It takes a little while, but soon the image becomes clear: a young girl looking into a mirror on a dressing table and holding up her Network device to show herself to herself. She ( Read more... )

[...Rosella, get your fingers out of your mouth when you speak with people on the Network, that's not dignified behavior at all.]

My, that...er, is quite a change.

It is, rather, isn't it?

You could put it up. The, er, hair, that is. It'd be one way of keeping it away from your face.

Well, yes, I'm quite sure I could. The question, really, is how.

Oh, it's easy, all you need to do is part it and plait it back and then twist the ends a bit and pin them so they don't come undone.

...Which, er, I suppose would be a bit easier said than done if you'd never, um, done it before, yes.

I think I quite understand why ladies have a 'lady's maid' for these sorts of things.

Or years of practice, really. But when one has hair that long every day, instead of just for a few hours, one rather gets used to it. Would you, um, like me to put it up for you, instead?

Would you mind, terribly, if I were to ask for your help in that regard?

No, not at all, if it...er, if it doesn't bother you. I've never had that curse before, but I, um...well, I don't think I'd be taking it nearly so well as you are, really, and I wasn't sure if offering something like that when you're not yourself, as it were...

...That is, if it doesn't bother you, then of course, I'd be more than happy to help.

I'd rather not have my hair in my face all day so, no, given the circumstances, it doesn't bother me.

It'd be better if it were a little longer, really. There'd be more you could do with it. But let me just get a few things and I'll come right over--I imagine you likely don't have the sorts of pins and things you'll need, anyway.

Unfortunately the curse did not see fit to bestow such hair as yours on me for the sake of this curse.

No, not unless there are still a few things in Merry's room or down in some of the dressing rooms near the stage. I don't usually have much call for pins and things.

Ugh, no, you certainly wouldn't want hair like mine for something like this, my goodness. If you'd gone the whole day without any idea of how to manage it? It'd take you hours just to get all the tangles and snarls out.

And I think I'd rather not consider that ordeal at all.

To be honest, I'm still rather grateful that my clothes still fit me, more or less.
