I've been a mostly absent poster on LJ, but I'm going to try to change that in 2009 and write something at least once a week.
Last night we ordered in some dinner, which arrived a little late. We rushed out the door and headed downtown to see
Abraham Lincon's Big Gay Dance Party. I expected something silly and light, but it was actually quite insightful and thought-provoking, especially with scandals about the Illinois governor's office in the news. I highly recommend seeing it if you're in SF or will be before the end of January.
Before the show started, we had a little entertainment both in front of us and behind. In front of us sat an older woman wearing a fuzzy, furry white coat which perfectly matched her fuzzy, furry white hair, to the point where it looked like she was wearing a hoodie. Behind us, a couple began fighting about their seats, talking and shouting louder and louder even as the show was starting, to the point where one of them stormed out of the theater after demanding (and not receiving) his date's share of the ticket price.
The show let out at about 11:00, and we wandered through the Castro, but didn't go in anywhere. We made it back home by 11:30, and watched Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper from Times Square on CNN while toasting the new year (in my new apartment) with some sparkling cider.
Happy new year to all!!
