Well, this is hardly relevant any more. I am such a procrastonator.
Anyway, here is the action-packed conclusion to my summer.
My last days downstate involved a sweet mini-vacation down to
Cleveland, OH. Why Cleveland, you ask? Well because DEVO
played a show there and Erik and I decided to finally go see them since
we first started listening to them the early days of high school.
Tickets were $50 each, and with most of my friends not having jobs this
summer, nobody was really interested in going with us. Our
concert going party consisted of Erik, my cousin Daniel and I.
Daniel didn't really know anything about Devo, but he wanted to go to a
concert so he came along for the ride. The only thing I worry
about is that Daniel had never been to a serious concert before, and
Devo put on quite a show. It was truly one of the best shows I have
ever been to. Mark threw bouncy balls at us, Bob1 broke all his
guitar strings on the noise part of"Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA", Jerry danced
around, and Bob2 looked like he was going to have a heart attack.
Despite their old age, they could still rock. I don't think
Daniel will ever experience a show of that magnitude again, and may be
disappointed in any future concerts.
That night we met up with Mr. and Mrs. Adams and
stayed at a hotel to get rested for the next days adventure: THE ROCK
AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. It was my first time going there and I
thought it was pretty cool. Daniel seemed lost and partly
uninterested so I felt bad. Especially after he had to pay $20 to
get in. We were there for probably about 3-4 hours then had to
get back to MI, for I had to leave for school the next day and had not
even started packing.
Back in Brighton, Carrie, Erik and I had our "last
supper" at champs which was fantastic, and watched Sarah Brosch's last
show. Then, just like that, the next morning I am driving 9 hours
up to school. It still doesn't feel like school has started, just
because it happened so fast. When I got up to school, we spent
the week relaxing, and spent one day at the shores of
The rough black "sand" of the shore
The Breakers
Sunset
The view from the breakers
Richard Leach on the beach
Chris capturing the sunset
Richard by the entance to the canal and my camera not taking good pictures in the night
And with that, summer is over.
