Dusk and Dawn seems to be down. I cannot access my own site, for reasons eminently unclear to me. Needless to say, this annoys me to no end.
Our first set of Macbeth Did It performances this weekend was, IMO, underwhelming. We are consistently skipping over the lines that give the Queen's Lady-In-Waiting a name. And the original Jules will not be coming back. Out of all the plays Hartman could have chosen...why this one?
In slightly more cheerful news (emphasis on slightly), I finally watched Revenge of the Sith last night. I was less than whelmed. The only apparent difference between Hayden Christensen and Keanu Reeves is a less pale complexion and the ability to actually smile at least once. Padme was possibly the most vapid love interest I have ever seen. "This baby will change our lives, Anakin." No, duh.
Count Dooku was killed within the first ten minutes in a rather less-than satisfactory duel, replaced by a wheezing four-armed cyborg with a bad eastern european accent. (Which reminds me, every duel except the one between Yoda and Palpatine ended with someone losing a hand. Most characters ended up clinging to a cliff edge at some point.)
How does Anakin fall? Palpatine tells him Sith arts could heal Padme and stop her from dying in childbirth. He (Anakin) then accidentally kills Mace Windu to stop him from killing Palpatine, and immediately decides to start slaughtering kids.
The climactic battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin/Vader ends with Obi-Wan shouting "It's over, Anakin! I have the high ground!"
And worst of all, even James Earl Jones can't save Vader's dignity and menace when he has to yell "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Firefly Quote of the Day
Zoe Warren: Is there any way I'm getting out of this with honor and dignity?
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: You're pretty much down to ritual suicide, lamby-toes.
