Guess where I am?

I am the ole architecture office I used to work at until I went to grad school. I'm filling in for a couple of days. My bank account is seriously lacking, i.e. I need to pay August rent.

I luckily have lots of stuff to work on...school/Lelong exhibition stuff. About 300 sketches to crop and rename. There was this company called Berley (there were lots of similar ones in NY back in the day) who employed sketch artists to make drawings of couture samples - either they rented them or flat out tried to sketch as items went by or pretended to be clients and bought items to later be copied in America. They are a rather good resource, not only giving you an image but sometimes also information about the textiles used, trimmings, and construction details and even sometimes the names of the intended clients for special items.

Honestly, it's kind of nice to have a break from interning and researching. I need some time to decompress, even if it's in an office for eight hours.

I just checked out the new Francine du Plessix Gray book, Them which is about her mother and stepdad, Alexander Lieberman the former creative czar of Vogue. I'm going to hear her give a reading next Tuesday at 192 Books. Next Tuesday also happens to be my and Frank's three anniversary. Holy shizz, three years. That's a long time. A long time and a lot has happened. It's really cool, actually
