Last night, the younger Otter offspring sang with his college choir in a presentation of 'Carmina Burana'. The opening/closing song, O Fortuna, is familiar to most of us from movies and commercials. It's a huge, dramatic choir piece, was used in 'The Gladiator', for one. I think it's the best thing I've heard the choir do in the years we've been attending. They received a 10 minute standing ovation at the end. Now, the younger Otter is set to graduate in May, so that was the last performance. I am melancholy this morning, since he plans to go on to grad school (yay!) but not near here (boo!).
The orchestra last night had 5 upright basses--Mr. mister_otter was practically hanging off the balcony, drooling.
On a different topic, I am soooo tempted to sign up for the Hermione Big Bang. A lovely dramione mystery bunny went by and showed a flash of his white tail, tempting me to follow him into those particular woods. But I need to ignore it and continue working on o-fic instead.
And it is Spring break, in this world. Happy Spring to all!!!
