It had been several weeks since the prophecy child's, my niece, brother whom I suppose is also my nephew had his little vision and took Liliana away from the firm. He and Angel's son plaguing her mind with evil thoughts of Wolfram and Hart, the project, and well, myself. Of course the project they were perfectly honest in telling the girl she was

Laughing lightly, I shook my head and pushed myself away from the limousine. "No, Alexia. I don't have any candy, but I can offer you something to drink inside if you'd like."
I shrugged a little. "I guess I should have introduced myself better. I'm actually your mother's uncle and your great uncle. Your grandfather James? He is my brother."
There was no telling the stories her parents and the vampire had spun up in her head about the three of us or the firm in general. But at the very least she didn't seem likely to run inside and go tattle to mommy and daddy that her evil uncle was offering her candy and a ride in a limousine.
"My brother and and sister were able to see you and your brother at Thanksgiving dinner. I thought it was time I introduce myself."

"Holidays don't normally peak my interest and I was deep in a project at the time. Although, now, I do regret not coming with James and Dominique to meet my niece and nephew."
I smiled. "Maybe I can make up for that now?" Turning back to the vehicle, I pulled open the door. "I could take you a ride around the city in style? Unless you think one of your parents would object."
And of course they would, but pointing that out might help keep her from asking.

Probably so, but I admired that she agreed to take a ride anyway.
As she asked her question about harming others, I leaned forward and fixed the both of us a couple of drinks. She wasn't of age, but first meetings were special occasions. Handing her a glass of champagne, I took my own glass of scotch.
"Yes, I do." There was no need to lie to the girl after all. "It's a part of my job. Just like it's a part of your mother's job as well as Angel's." The difference being Angel and Faith willing to harm and kill their own family members.
"We're just riding around the city now, but would you like to take a trip to the offices? I'd be glad to show you around. I'm sure your grandfather and aunt would like to see you as well if they're around."

I nodded. "Yes, Wolfram and Hart and I am Angel's boss." Gladly so.
Laughing a little at her telling me I seemed boring, I shrugged and sat my glass down after taking another sip. "I'm not a lawyer, but I'm sure my job would be boring to a sixteen year old girl. It bores me sometimes too."
She brought up her mother again. "Vampires aren't human, but slaying is still an act of killing. Justified death is still death no matter how it's twisted around. My job is making sure the offices and dealing go on as they should. And also overseeing a few special projects."
Part of which was now living in the same hotel as she was.
"Enough about me. I came here to find more about you. Tell me about yourself."

She began to tell about herself and I smiled. "I'm sure you're much more interesting than just that, Alexia. I can't do much about the island, but I can help with the shopping and ice cream. I'd be happy to take you out sometime or I'm sure your aunt Dominique would be thrilled to go as well. She's my favorite shopping partner."
Tell her parents? "No, I'm not going to tell either of your parents you're here with me. That's your decision, not mine. I think you're old enough now to decide on your own, don't you?"
The limousine came to a stop and I glanced out the window to see that the office was just outside. "Do you still want that tour? Or I can have the driver turn back around and head back to the hotel instead if you'd like to go back."

Nodding forward, I led her through the building and introduced her to several people as they approached us. I made sure to avoid Angel's office since who knows if he decided to show up for work or spend time back at his little hotel worrying over what to do next.
We walked up the stairs to continue and I pointed out the lab to her as we passed by, but decided to go ahead and move on. No doubt that Norman would have loved to meet his granddaughter, but I had no interest in introducing her to him.
Coming to the end of a hall, I led her inside an elevator and I pressed the button for the floor with the three of our offices. "Would you like to see if your grandfather or aunt are

"Sure." I shrugged when he offered to see if my other family members were lurking around. My mother was going to kill me. No, really. She probably would if she ever found out about this. Daddy wouldn't be happy about it either but I hadn't heard anything about Norman so I guess he'd probably take my side ( ... )

Luckily I'd just returned from my afternoon shopping trip and had plenty of things that I could share with the beautiful teenager. Looking through my bags, I found the perfect Prada purse for the Osborn heiress. If there was one thing I approved of it was her father's influence on her sense of fashion ( ... )
