The neverending heat

Jul 24, 2006 20:52

For anyone who isn't in California or hasn't seen the news, its hot. Really hot. Like Vegas hot. This is not normal, no matter how many times Leon claims he's impervious to the heat.

It hit 108 in Pasadena on Saturday, almost setting a record for the month and easily setting a record for the day. Then the power went out. I've experienced the no power thing in Maine, but its nothing like this. Sleeping in 85 degree heat with no fans or other moving air sucks. I realize there are billions of poor people who suffer all the time, but I'm from Maine, and this is hot. Too hot.

The power did come back on, but not until 5AM that night. I've slept better, needless to say.

I don't know if this is global warming kicking my ass or a sign that Pasadena is too hot for me, but either way I'm tired of it.
