Episode 101: Making Movies

May 30, 2005 23:49

I spent the day with Dave in Long Beach near the Pine Ave Pier and the Pike.  Our plan for the evening was to see Star Wars Episode III.  We had a bite to eat at Island's and then we killed some time by strolling along the bay before the movie.  I got to see a very nice part of Long Beach today.  The weather was simply perfect.  I described the scenery to Dave as a very movie-esque place.  I'm very impressed by the final Star Wars movie of the prequel series, partially by how hot Hayden Christensen is.  : ) Both Dave and I want to run out and buy Episodes 4,5, & 6 to see, in detail, how it all connects.  Some of the scenes were very intense, especially when Annakin Skywalker yelled out "I hate you!" to Obi Won Kenobi, which he replied "And I loved you!"  As for the names of some of these characters and places, I don't know if I should be impressed by the creativity, or be amused by how silly they sound.  Dooku, in my opinion, is a funny word.  I wonder if they will make an Episode 7,8, & 9 in the future.

Maria and Rhianne had a graduation party this weekend.  Maria got her Bachelor's, and Rhianne got her masters!  I had a good time at the party.  I got to see a lot of people that I have not seen in a while, particularly Esther, Corey, and Bryma.  It was a happy reunion.  Rhianne had a viewing of her movie, which she made as her thesis.  I could tell she had fun making it, and did all the people who were acting in it.  To my surprise, I was in the very first scene of her film.  It was so amazing to see how all the scenes that she shot were connected into an actual story.  My part was filmed in late October or early November of last year.  Rhianne told me to interrogate Maria in Cantonese and then play a private school receptionist.  That was all I knew of the film until I saw the completed project this past weekend.  Very well done Rhianne!  I can't wait to purchase a copy of the movie and see the bloopers on the special features.  My first acting experience has been documented if ever I choose to head down that career path.
