I'm still not sure where you are, but based on the available clues I am thinking Japan, Australia, or Philly. I've definitely narrowed it down. Go me.
I have my choice of two such parties for Halloween this year and I have yet to go out and buy a costume of some sort. Woe. Of course, buying costume implements that I will never wear again is my least favorite part of a season that I otherwise love. It's like a Halloween tax. Maybe I'd feel differently if I had more disposable income, though. Eh.
For the buyables: If you like Stephen King's The Dark Tower, there are now two hardback collections of comic book versions of it by Marvel. They are pretty good. If TV is more your thing, Heroes is pretty fun to watch and so is House. I think you can find those eps online somewhere though. I don't know if you have seen The Dark Knight or not yet, but if you haven't save a bit of that gift card for when it comes out on DVD. Maybe the best movie of the summer. Iron Man IS out on DVD I think and that contends with Batman for best movie. (Of course, our movie scores don't match on Facebook, so take that rating and these suggestions for what they are worth.)
Man if you were out here I'd dress as Higgins with you. As it is right now though, I'm thinking of eliminating my facial hair to go as Dirty Harry.
Spaz's comments remind me that I need to pick up the Long Road Home myself (might even do that right after I type this.) As far as my recommendations for that scratch though, I'd hold on to it and put it towards a proper western RPG (with online co-op too) when Fable 2 comes out.
Oh man...a Higgins complete with Lads would be an excellent addition to my costume. As is, I am settling for accuracy in other areas. Namely the hat, the shirt, and the experience as a hardened Nam vet.
Fable 2, eh? Do you think it's important for a player of the the sequel to have ever played Fable (the original)?
For some reason, I had it in my head at that late hour of the night that Buffalo Wings came out of Philly. I think the odd association was that all good food comes from Philly. Why I was thinking this when I replied, I am not sure. I have since remembered that Buffalo Wings come from Buffalo, New York. Oops. So I revise your alternate location to NY.
You might just burn in nerd hell. It had higher ratings on every review site than I have ever seen for a movie. It was damn good. I saw it both in the regular theater and in imax. You should bump it up to your ASAP list...

before you read any mediocre comic adaptions, you should read the source material.

I still haven't seen the Dark Knight, for which I am sure to burn in nerd hell. I am adding it to the "Eventually" list.

DK is on the list...I just have to wait for it to arrive on some kind of high quality digital format.
