[Bobby's outside, holding the journal facing towards him with one hand and tossing a snowball with the other.]
I promise this is not my fault! I had absolutely nothing to do with this.
[Not that anyone except for maybe two people would have any reason to suspect him. But he's too used to having to give a disclaimer every time snow comes when it

...now that you've said that, I'm all the more likely to blame you.
[Okay, so he's more amused now than anything else. But it's cold! So he's blaming you!
Because he can.]

[He's grinning cheerfully.]
Of course, they usually do it, anyway.
Reply
So why would you be responsible for this all, anyways? Are you an ice mage?
Reply
Kind of? I'm a mutant. But I can create ice and stuff, so it might be similar.
Reply
It sounds like it! Ice mages can form or control it, and they can use it in all sorts of different ways.
Reply
Yup, that sounds like what I do! I'm the only one I know of who can in my world, though.

You wouldn't be quite as special in mine. You're either fire or ice, no exceptions.
[He's grinning, though. There -are- some exceptions, but that's not important right now.]

Sounds like I'd fit in, then. I only know of one person who can control fire in my world, too. It'd be nice to meet other people who could.

I'm guessing you're fire?

You're something else besides fire?

Sure am.
How about I cut the talking, though, and show you when I find you out there?
[Asuka is planning nefarious things.]

That'll give me something to look forward to, then.

A little bit later, wearing a veritable mound of layers of clothing, Asuka's headed toward the lake. He stops a fair distance away, looking at all the figures until he's finally able to pick out the kid he'd been talking to over the journal.
He's already been introduced to the joys of snowballs by this point, but that doesn't mean he's going to be quite so predictable. He crouches, forming his snowball, then casts a small water spell, forming another sphere around the snow. About an inch thick, the layer will impact just like the snowball will--splashing everywhere as it comes apart.
So Asuka ambles a little bit closer, takes his aim... and OH HEY WHAT'S UP BOBBY THERE'S A SNOWBALL HEADED YOUR WAY OH NO WHAT'RE YOU GONNA DO?]

So it's not until the snowball is released that Bobby notices Asuka's nearby, and even that's only because he can sense the cold coming off the object flying towards him. He turns, but doesn't duck, because the moisture on this snowball is off, and now he's curious.
When it hits him and the water goes splashing everywhere, Bobby's startled for a second before he laughs, slightly dripping and amused.]
If that wasn't so awesome, you'd totally be getting a face full of snow.
