Costume party! Dude, awesome. Who's going? I've got my costume already.
Raven, you'll save me a dance? Or two or three. Assuming there is dancing. And Aara, Claudia, Bryn, Chloe, Rapunzel, I'm totally expecting dancing from you, too. Actually, pretty much just might ask everyone I know to dance, just tossing that out as a warning.
[He is so

And you know I've got your back, nameless soldier.
[....
Hey, you busy right now?
Reply
Wicked! And I knew I could count on you, one girl army.
[He shakes his head.]
Never too busy for you.

[EFFING CHARLES. SON. OF. A. BITCH.]
Awesome - can I come to your room?
Reply
Thanks, Raven.
[Yeeeaah, awkward. All of the awkward here.]
Of course. Door's always open.

[...After she locates a good peace offering.]

[And meanwhile, he's just going to. Straighten up a bit. Not that his room is all that messy to begin with, but he's still going to stack up the books he'd been looking through on his desk. Make sure the door's unlocked. That kind of thing.]

Bobby?
[She brought cookies pilfered from the Kitchens. Please don't be mad at her :C]
Reply
Hey, Rae. I - dude, cookies! Wicked!
[And his smile is instantly bigger. Raven and cookies? Yeah, awkwardness temporarily forgotten.]
I mean. Hi, come on in.
Reply
Boys and food. Doesn't take much.
She offers the plate as she steps in the room, shutting the door behind her.]
Thanks.
[She didn't bake them, so they're safe.]
Reply
Though the cookies are a definite plus.
He takes the plate as she comes in, nudging the door shut behind her and munching on a cookie as he does.]
So, I'm guessing this is about your brother? I promise I won't make anymore public announcements about asking you to dance.
[He's just. Completely not thinking about the Charles Xavier thing right now.]

[She makes herself at home, and flops on his bed.
Charles isn't actually my real brother. I grew up with him, but we're not related by blood. He caught me in his kitchen when I was little, trying to steal food.
[She rubs her eye.]
He took me in, and...well. I didn't have to steal food anymore. [Just appearances.]
Bobby, he's a good guy, and he really is just doing what's best for me, but...
[Raven hesitates. Charles told her that his 'gift' was limited, and...outing him seems like some kind of cheap betrayal but this is Bobby and Bobby is trustworthy.]
He's a telepath. I'm sure you know what that means...?
Reply
[He sits down on the bed next to her, cross-legged with the plate of cookies in his lap as he listens to her talk.
And - what she says doesn't really surprise him. Well, it does, considering the last person he'd ever expected to be her adopted brother is Charles Xavier, but it doesn't surprise him at all that Charles would take someone in. Even that young.]
Yeah, he - he does sound like a good guy. I talked to him when he first got here, but I had no idea he was your brother then.
[He nods in response to her question.]
I knew a few telepaths back home.
[Bobby doesn't say that he's not surprised. He hadn't actually known if this Charles was a telepath or not, but he'd figured he was.]
Reply
Yeah, he's...
[She sighs.]
I wanted to tell you about his mind reading stuff, because I think he's interested in you and your intentions. He's going to try and read your mind at this party, if not before.
[Aaaand this is where the ACUTE BETRAYAL feeling comes in.]
He told me that when he first got here, he couldn't sense anyone's minds. It was only when he was within a few feet of me that he could finally pick me up.
Reply
He gives a soft, not quite chuckle.]
Yeah, no, I guess that doesn't surprise me. Any brother'd be interested in some guy who's asking his sister to dance. I guess I'll just work on keeping up a constant string of song lyrics, like I used to when I was a teenager.
[Fortunately, he has kind of a lot of practice in that. Almost nine years of living with a number of telepaths will do that.]
Really? Can he normally sense a lot farther than that?
[He pauses.]
Don't answer that, if you don't want to. I know powers, especially limitations, are kind of a personal thing. But it makes sense, with what this place does to powers.
[There's another brief pause.]
You think he'll think it's suspicious if I just try to stay more than ten feet away from him the whole time?
Reply
He's...
[God, Charles is going to kill her for telling Bobby all of this.
Sigh.]
Yeah. He's usually really good. Like, creepy good. He promised to stay out of my head but I really doubt he's gonna stay outta yours.
[She twists her hands in her lap.]
Probably. He'll know I told you. He's going to kill me -- Bobby, you have to swear to me you wont tell anyone - anyone at all what I just told you.
Reply
I won't. I promise, I'd never out anyone like that. No one will find out from me.
[...except, Scott and Logan are both here, and they both know what Charles can do. Well, what the Professor could do. He owes it to Raven, to Charles, to warn them about that. If it's not already too late.]
Rae, I-
[He cuts off, because he's not exactly sure where he'd been going with that, and sighs.]
Um. So you know how things are weird around here? Like, someone will be here for a while, and then disappear, but later come back? Only it's not really them, because they have different memories? Or like, how people can look almost exactly like someone, but not be them?
