No, no it is not the same at all. I'm referring to an ANIMAL, not a PERSON. and I'm rather offended that you accuse me of prejudice for referring to a breed of animal that has been:
a. bred to be aggressive (Roman War Dogs) b. proven time and time again to attack without provocation.
Forgive me for saying so, but it's pretty ignorant to equate that to racial prejudice. Here's the difference:
HUMANS can think for themselves, we have an intellect that we can use to think, create, express, feel. We have a conscience. We have self-control. We know right from wrong, almost inherently (unless you're very mentally ill). We are higher beings.
ANIMALS, i.e. DOGS, run on instinct. They do not know that attacking the neighbor's cat is wrong. They do not know that pooping on the rug is wrong. The only way they know that is if you TRAIN them to do otherwise. They do not have a conscience. They do not know that it is wrong to attack that jogger that is running past the yard. They have instinct that tells them "hey, that pink creature is a threat to my territory!! I must DEFEND!!"
so, with all due respect, don't you EVER call me prejudiced again. I am a lot of fucked up things, but I am not a bigot. Realize that you have a pet, not a small human being there, and if instinct overcomes training one day, you'll learn real quick when the authorities come to put him down, and possibly press charges against his owners.
nah that is pretty fucked up that you said that. I had a pitbull growing up and it never "mauled a small child" it was actuallyy sweet and caring. And what you are doing is stereotyping. Yes, it is proven that pitbulls have a history of agression but just because a majority them do,it doesn't mean that this particular one would. So maybe you shoula kept what you said to yourself because it was rude and unappreciated.
