Ok, so I probably had the most enlightening graphic fiction class so far. I brought in eXiled and they looked through it. I explained that I was frustrated with it and it was embarrassing me.

They told me that it came across to them as a sort of diary. Like, it's more of a place where I just experiment with comic-making as opposed to there being an actual cohesive storyline.

I thought... "wow. That's... right!"

I had never even thought of that before. Like... it's OK if it's not a storyline. Because, at this rate, it can't be. It's too stretched out over a long period of time, the art changes too much, it's too inconsistent, and... it just can't be. But that's OK. It's a discovery process. I don't have to throw it out, and I don't have to add onto it. I can leave it as it is. And I can move on and do other things. Because I'm still learning, and I've decided that I want to get some more scenes on paper first, before I actually decide on what storyline eXiled will start to weave.

I'm not explaining myself well at all. But it makes sense to me. And I have never felt more at ease about this. It doesn't have to be a weight, or a guilt. I don't have to be like "omg sorry guys I haven't updated in 6 months". Because the storyline, the 40 or so pages I have right now? Ending. But not really even ending. It's setting it aside for later.

I've decided that I am going to start working on a bunch of short stories/scenes involving the characters and some scenes I've already sort of roughed out. Starting with one or two characters at a time, because the other big piece of feedback I recieved were that there are too many main characters introduced at the beginning. Which is incredibly true, and I think that's why people are having a difficult time following the story. It's hard to keep up with who's-who.

So I'm going to take it slow, do some developmental stuff by way of actual scenes as opposed to "THIS IS A PAGE OF 5 DIFFERENT CHARACTERS MAKING FUNNY FACES". Yes. I think it'll be good. And I'm really excited for it. :)

YAY I AM SOOOOO FUCKING GLAD THIS IS RESOLVED. SO GLAD INDEED.

In other news, what a fun weekend. KH Nite (well, day, mostly) was fun. I wasn't actually there for most of the game because I wanted to get some sleep. Which I am sad about. For I love the game. "DANCE WATER DANCE!" x3

SHOOT I LOST THE GAME. ANYWAY.

And then mom and I went to Spamalot! It was awwwweeeeesooooome. I was kind of upset that they muted some of the funnier lines from the movie, but all in all it was really good. There were funny things in there that weren't in Holy Grail, like *snort* the whole gay Lancelot thing. Mwahahah. I laughed.

Then I went back to Cameron's and I made a small list of music I need to obtain, including more Mika and Regina Spektor because she is awesome. And we watched "Hot Shots Part Deux" which is THE WORST BAD MOVIE EVER BUT IT'S SO ENTERTAINING. Omg. I will never be able to look at Charlie Sheen ever again without laughing. And then we played Curses! and Catrina frightened Noah and it was funny. :P Good times.

Yaaaaaaaaay friends. :)
