http://www.loft.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1266 Hey guys, there's this really awesome-sounding class called "Exploring the Art of Graphic Fiction" at Open Book this summer (Open Book is right next to the new Guthrie) on July 15th - August 12th, Sundays, from 1-3. Full scholarships are available!
"How is graphic fiction different from comics? Why would a writer decide to include visual images in a novel? In this class, you will delve deep into graphic literature and try your hand at creating graphic plot lines, dialogue, and scenes. We will read and discuss excerpts from graphic works by authors such as Lynda Barry, Art Spiegelman, Marjane Satrapi, and others. As the final project for the class, you will work closely with Jehanne and Rachel to write an original graphic short story."
It sounds really cool, and I signed up and you all should take it with me! :D It says it's for ages 17 and 18 but I bet that can be fluctuated if you're really interested.
