So. Spent the entire day at St. Benedict's/St. John's. Had tours and everything. I REALLY like the campus at St. Ben's, it's so large and utterly gorgeous, minus the construction for the new dining hall. X3 And Sacred Heart Chapel = AMAZING. They had this huge silver pipe organ and it was awesome. I wish I had brought my camera. If they would have let me take pictures anyway.
St. John's is like, drastically different in terms of its appearance. Some of the buildings are really industrial-looking and made of like, concrete, and others are old bricks that would look like they're from old London if you visited on a foggy day. Their abbey though... WOWZA. And it's not just the big impending statue weirdness with the bells/cross that you can see from the blinkin' freeway, but the interior is utterly breathtaking. The stain glass in the front is wonderful. :3
But. As I gush.
So. They didn't talk too much about St. Ben's/St. John's art program, which was disappointing, because they've supposedly got a very strong fine arts program. But it was more like, mentioned in passing. I dunno. Comparing it to MCAD... like, MCAD has the stuff I want to do, but something like Ben/John would provide more of the overall college experience. I dunno.
And living on-campus in general is starting to sound very appealing.
