friday nights
it is ticking towards 6:30pm, and i am still at work, that says a lot in itself.
waiting to get picked up. i would have been out of here, had it not been for my new boss.
he likes staying back and working. he has 2 jobs. says he isn't getting paid enough, but i think he's lying. he has 3 houses, a car and a business on the side... some people have it made... he wants to retire by 40, that's about 10yrs to go by my estimates... and me, i want to be just like him.
back to why i am here. getting picked up as i said. because there is nothing else i can do on a friday night but go home. well there are things i could do, and people i could meet, but that's a long story.
it is quiet in here, and i feel quite at home. i have only been here 2 weeks but it has been good. an eye opener if u like. things are so much more different than my last job. for one, the lifts actually work, but thankfully i don't need to take the lifts at all.. the people here are nice. those whom i have met, those whom i have exchanged pleasantries with...
i get along with my boss like i would never have imagined. i could never have had this kind of relationship with my old boss, i just couldn't talk candidly to him at all.
the work is hard, they threw me in the deep end. it is a steep learning curve, but it has been worth it. though there were days i dreaded the thought of the project i am working on, the the pressure i was under to get it working... and the people on my back who shall remain nameless...
i have learned to be wary of the marketing department. as they more often than not, make last minute changes that throw my project schedule out of synch.
i recently got a new mp3 player, a creative muvo 128meg. i am thoroughly pleased with it. though of the 128megs u can only use 122meg... it is tiny and does all the things i need it to, but not some of the things i want it too... at $269 with free delivery, i am glad i got it. it is the first major $$ splurge since, well a long long time... i am earning so much now i should spend more...
speaking of $$ i got my first payslip today... i haven't checked my bank account, i pray that it went in the correct one. the payslip was quite a surprise as my last payslip was just a printed and folded page of a4 paper... this one u had to rip open the perforated edges. $$ is good...
i look forward to tonight, more or less alone at home with family, dinner, tv, getting online finding noone on, especially not the person i wanted to talk to most.
i'll have to wait and dream about her for the time being. i will leave you all now and check my email. perhaps she has replied me... perhaps not.
