I just got back from the Phish concert in Coventry, VT. I've spent the last few days selling postcards in the Coventry post office, enjoying the show/atmophere, and of course wading through lots of mud. I've become very well aquainted with the different species (yes, species) of mudd which have visited coventry in the past few days and have decided on compleating a day-by-day overview.

Thursday- "fresh mud" This the mud which accurs when a grassy field first turns into mud. When it rains puddle-like formations develop first in any ruts in the grass and slowly expand to saturate other areas. This mud promotes the behavior of jumping from one "safe" spot to the next.
Friday- "Extream mud" When fresh mud is rained on, walked on, and driven over for a day it becomes extream. The grass all but disappears and is replaced by deep sticky areas accented by puddles. Everybody gives up trying to keep their feet out of it.
Saturday- "Generic mud"A slightly dried version of the appove, still including puddles and such.
Sunday- "sticky mud" This mud is even drier then the above. If you walk through it you get a satisfying "squish" noise. However, you are in great danger of loosing a shoe or at least having a half inch coat of mud covering your shoe if you dare to wlk through this.
Monday- "Slime-mud" When sticky mud dries even further, then gets rained on once again to add a thin layer of watery mud on top, it becomes slime mud. This mud is extreamly slippery, the danger of wiping out is extreamly high.

I'd just like to add that the mud situation aside I had a great time working at the show. It was great to hang out with friends, oberve the cult-like performance of 60,000 fans, and simply get a chance to enjoy a consert.

Now I'm off to Portland in a couple of days!
