FOUR : What If His Heart also Not His Anymore
Cho Kyuhyun always thought that Seo Joohyun was the most beautiful girl in SM Town.
It started on the day he joined the trainee camp where he was a hoobae to that class full of girls, whose age mostly one or two his juniors. There were three who left special marks in his mind.
The first one was Jessica, an american-born brat who has beautiful voice but could be as cold as ice that even his cool Heechul Hyung would run for his life. Then there was Yoona, a wanna be actress, who was very cute but could be so weird that even his calm Donghae Hyung would hide himself when she wanted something from him. And finally there was little Joohyun, the youngest of them all, who was so shy and calm yet captured the hearts of everybody, included him.
The first time he saw Joohyun, the girl with the same name as him, he had thought that her eyes was beautiful. Then after he met every girl in the trainee camp, he came to conclusion that her eyes indeed were the most beautiful ones. He remembered that there were times when he could not shifted his eyes from her that one of his classmates had to nudge him hard on the elbow or whispered in his ears that his own cheeks had become as pink as her chubby ones.
However, he was only joined the trainee camp for five months. And then he was recruited as the last member of Super Junior, where he became their sunbae instead of hoobae. Since he was new, he spent his first year as member to adjust his life with the twelve hyungs. Visited the trainee camp was becoming a luxury for him. Though he would like to do thatsometimes. To see his old classmates and those pretty dongsaengs.
He felt bad sometimes that he started to forget the faces of his friends in the trainee camp. But for sure, he could not forget the pair of beautiful eyes that had always haunted his mind since the day they met.
Then SNSD was formed. As the female version of Super Junior, both groups were often being paired in many of the music show. And he started to meet his dongsaengs again. But when he became closer with Sica and Yoona, he could not be as closer as he wanted with 'the not so' little Joohyun.
And there was the 'sexy' incident. When he was surprised with her new appearance which he then learned was just stage wardrobe. But he saw her eyes were teary, and he cursed himself, knowing that he might just ruin his chance to get closer with her.
Therefore two years later when Manager-Hyung announced that some of them would join a music video with some of the SNSD on the promotion of Seoul, he secretly wished that he would be picked too. And then when it was announced that they would be paired, he prayed at heart that Joohyun, or everybody knew her as Seohyun now, would be his.
On the day of their first technical meeting for the video, he tried hard to look cool, so he took his mobile and played the games to calm him down. He thought he must be doing something good (which was a bit unlikely) because God was fulfilling his prayers and let Seohyun become his partner. But then he saw her frown upon hearing the announcement. Shifting back to his phone to calm himself for the excitement (and hurt because of Seohyun's reaction), he promised himself that he would make their video shooting a pleasant one for both of them.
Their first few takes went smoothly because those were solo performances. Then they took a break before continuing to take their jointly shoots. He took out his lunch box and looked for a place to eat when he saw her munching her food happily while reading the script. He chuckled and finally gave in to his curiosity. He put his bag in the table in front of her and watched with amusement when she lifted her face and her eyes (yup, they were still beautiful) caught his and she startled. He gave in to his desire to touch her, so he playfully tap his fingers to her head and smiled, "Seohyun-ah, are you sure you do not want to try a piece of my hamburger? You should not eat only that piece of food, you will be frozen!" He was surprised when she smiled back and retorted, "Aniyo, this is healthy food Oppa, it gives you calorie but not fat like those unhealthy hamburgers!" He busted into laugh and whispered, "Yesung-hyung was right, you have pretty forehead although you are noisy". And she pouted. ("Yesung-Hyung was also right that she is a fighter", he added at heart)
He felt relief that their little fiasco had helped them to do their scenes together with almost perfection. Only one incident happened, and he was worried because she was very wet in the middle of cold winter night, when a set crew was too excited with the water scene. He instantly flew to her side, took her hands in his to warm them up, "are you cold? you want to take a break? I can ask the director to let you warm yourself first". She shook her head, "I am fine Oppa, let's do the next scene". "are you sure?" "I am sure Oppa, I feel warm already". And he caught her pink cheeks and his heart was also warmer too.
They ended up the day quite early, as the director was so happy with them that only few scenes that need multiply takes. But on the other hand he actually felt a little bit sad that his time with her was almost over. Again that night, his heart won over his brain, so he offered her a ride home. Babbling about the dinner he planned with Changmin and Minho in the mall near their dorm. He even braves himself to ask her to join them in an attempt to still be with her that night. But she rejected the offer, explaining about the test that she would take the day after.
They bid goodbye in front of her dorm room. But what she did not know was that he spent a good ten minutes in his car outside to contemplate on what happened that day. And he concluded that night, that with only a day together, he was already addicted to her, and he did not know how he can satisfy this craving need inside.
