I so enjoyed reading this. It's beautifully sad. Poor Rodney, I wanted to hug him. Nicely done! :)

I must admit I rather depressed myself writing this piece, coming back to edit each version broke me up, but I couldn't leave it be. It's a strange satisfaction of him being proved right in his fears ultimately, but in such a painful way.
