Pets, Pets, Pets! *Nibblenibble*

So most people have seen my cute little ratties, Osiris (late), Seth and Geb, but there have been some new additions to the household since my brother moved in. Time to meet the family -- again!

This is our doggy! He's a Jack Russel cross so he's quite small but he's really heavy! He likes to ark at postmen and Royal Mail vans (even outside the house!) and to look after the smaller animals of the house. He likes to be lazy too. He doesn't really have a name since he's a rescue dog - we don't know what his original owner will have called him. I tend to call him "Guy" because I was replaying "Escape from Monkey Island" when he came to sit with me and we bonded, but he responds to these too: Fried Worm, William Gates IV, Rolley, Rocky, Dog, Muntardian, Kirk, Azazel, Arnie...

... And these are my wee piggles, Chester and Darwin. Chester is very aloof and has pink eyes -- he's named after a character in a book I'm writing. Darwin is a bit of a freak of evolution since he has bristled fur and curly whiskers (hence the science name!), and he's a true born explorer who is curious about everything! I've had them since they were just a few weeks old. They're supposed to be brothers but they don't look anything alike. They act like brothers though.

They also think I'm a bit silly with the way I pander to them all the time and spoil them. They're currently addicted to Waggs carrot sticks. The dog also eats them.

I'm making a journal post about them because I have been having a rough time lately. Having the wee ones around has really helped me get through it all though! When I was feeling down, the sound of nibbling and purring piggles was really calming, and when I was cold or a bit sick, the dog would come to curl up with me. I think they can sense when their human friends aren't feeling so good and they try their best to help. My ratties have been the same, too. So I'd highly recommend going to look at some animals if you feel sad, and if you have a pet go and give him/her a cuddle if you're feeling unwell. It's not a cure for everything, but I think that animals give out lots of love when they can!

Until next time ~

Other updates:-More on Platform Expos soon. Keep your peepers peeled!
-I recently came back from a convalescent style holiday in Blackpool (sea air is supposed to make you feel better but it was stupidly windy!) Maybe I will do a post about what I did there, but you're always free to PM me if you're curious about what there is to do there! (I go there every year so... yeah I'm pretty clued in.)
