So I've decided that one outfit post a week will suffice! Here is the first outfit post (off of Facebook). Here's my co-ordinate that features this wonderful bonnet <3
So I'm thinking I only like bonnets and mad hats because I love Trinity Blood. Don't you dare say "fail".
Week 1 (Photos taken Friday 7th January)
Top to toe~
Headpiece: Ophanim Gothique, second hand
(Was custom made for another loli, who I bought it from when she no longer had the dress it was supposed to match with. I can make my own bonnets, but I was just being plain lazy!)
Cutsew: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Cardigan: Bodyline (Altered)
Skirt: Angelic Pretty
Socks: Offbrand - Card suits ftw!
Furry Bolero: Offbrand - It cost £7.00 from a thrift store and is warm enough for snowy winter. Bargain!
Umbrella: Offbrand - Can you see the hearts and ruffles? Even the handle is shaped like a heart <3
Boots: Offbrand, customised
Thoughts: Since I wear lolita every day, I think the guys down at the post office have gotten used to me popping in wearing various decadent attire. As such, I don’t really bother making myself look absolutely flawless makeup wise when I know I’m just going to get rained on, soggy, and cold, despite the huge umbrella. Going to the post office and then to the pub for a bite to eat on a dreary Friday afternoon isn’t that high on my “want to look mega-awesome” list, but it is high on my “I don’t really give a hoot, I just want to offload this stuff and chow down” list. This co-ordinate is mainly brand. I’d probably have preferred to be wearing plainer or sweeter socks and shoes, but it was freezing and I chose warmth over fashion for once! I was so lucky to be able to get my hands on the velvet sides frill skirt by Angelic Pretty since it’s all the way from about 2004! I think it’s the oldest brand piece in my wardrobe. It’s so comfortable and warm- perfect for gloomy days like today was. Layers really are the way to go in winter!
I realise that not everyone in the lolita fashion likes to rock a bonnet, but I’m rather partial to one every now and again. Perhaps I should make a post about the many styles of bonnets, as it’s confusing to choose which type to make or buy. Do you think bonnets are just taking things too far/plain crazy?
Ciao all! <3
Here's a P.S. for you fashion lovers-- look what the postman just delivered today!!
You may recognise this as the candy-print skirt that Bodyline had on their website 2009ish time, then they only had the mint colourway left. I bought a mint one, and found that mint is really not good for my skin tone so I sold it on. And finally I found another loli willing to part with hers in the black colourway because the print was too 'sweet' for her. I know, I know, Bodyline is not always good (in fact, sometimes I think it's horrific!), but whilst there's no comparison between this and a brand print skirt, it's so totally workable for the price!
