Title: Earthquakes (2/?)
Author: Missyrivera
Rating: Pg-13, for now
Word count: 500+
Disclaimer: I own none of these people. Don't sue. Kay, thanks.
Summary: Based on Lea's tweet: "So the earthquake knocked me out of bed last night. I'm from New York people! I'm not used to this stuff!!!"

A/N: I really don't know when this took a turn for the angst because this was originally for a prompt at glee_fluff_meme but it did. It will get better though because angst without the happy ending makes me sad.  This chapter is pretty short, so I apologize. Hope you enjoy!

Ps: Unbeta'ed. All mistakes are mine.

Dianna showed up on set in a very irritable mood that morning. She had woken up to find that she was alone. At first, she couldn't understand why she felt so... empty and why Lea's body was not pressed up against her. So she had reached out her arm only to grasp cold sheets and she knew immediately that this morning wouldn't be a good one. She wandered aimlessly around the apartment for while, hoping that Lea had only gotten up and not left the apartment. But of course the apartment was empty. No Lea, no "Good morning, lovely! Made coffee. See you on set!" note like usual.

She had sat on the couch and tried to think things through. "I'm a rational, reasonable woman. It's ridiculous to be upset like this. Lea does not owe me anything. Lea and I are not together. She doesn't need to write me notes every morning. She has a boyfriend and she's happy with him." For a good couple of minutes, this thought process seemed to ease the emptiness. But the moment passed and all the hopes and wishes of a hopeless romantic came rushing in without warning. Annoyed, she realized that she felt a little cheated. As if Lea stealthily stealing away to work without waking her up had been some sort of rejection. "The woman makes me crazy. She can't just come into my room and cuddle with me and press her face against my neck and tell me not to leave. That's not fair."

At the end of it all, she decided not to make a big production of how upset she was. She was Dianna Agron, she didn't do confrontations. She thought it best to avoid the brunette for now. For reasons she knows all too well, her brain ceased to function when she was around Lea. Too much staring at her lips and too busy thinking of what she would do to those lips to form a coherent sentence. All of this resulted in Dianna looking like a total zombie in her interviews with Lea. Not cool. And though she'd admitted to herself a while ago that she loved Lea, loved her in the way that made clasped hands feel just as good as kisses, loved her in the way that completely scattered her brain in such an agonizing yet perfect way, Dianna was starting to feel the sharp shocks of unrequited love. She knew she needed to get herself out. She hadn't realized she'd gotten this invested over her fantasies.

She made a quick phone call on her way to work and set up some evening plans. Once she arrived at Paramount, she walked across the lot briskly, giving the crew a small smile as she passed them. She arrived at the front of her trailer and could hear Lea and Naya's voices inside. Damn. She really thought it would be much easier to avoid Lea. She was usually already on set, reading lines with Cory or at the recording studio. Dianna frowned and walked towards the studio. She would just hang out at the common room for now. God, I'm so pathetic. Reduced to hiding out in the common room. Fortunately, she had everything she needed in the satchel she brought with her. Her iPod, her script, some novels, her iPhone and camera would keep her busy and entertained before she had to get ready for her scene which wasn't for another hour.

Half an hour later.

Behind Dianna, Lea reached her hands out to an unsuspecting blonde, caressed her neck as she put her mouth close to Dianna's ear,"Whatcha doing here? You could've come to the trailer."

Dianna squeaked with surprise at the sudden contact which escalated into a moan, that she tried to disguise as a sigh of relief, when she registered the soothing effect of Lea's hands on her skin.

"The couch here is so much comfier." Dianna lied. She, Naya and Lea had spent a month trying to find the perfect couch to put in their trailer and had been successful in their search. In fact, other cast members took to taking naps or making out on their couch. Amber was there half the time because the girl could literally fall asleep at any given minute of the day, Lea and Dianna were pretty sure Heather and Naya had had sex on their couch multiple times.

So it was no wonder when Lea raised an eyebrow at Dianna's answer. Dianna blushed at being caught in a lie. She had been sitting with her back against the arm rest, her right leg on the couch with her foot planted on the cushion while her left leg touched down on the floor. Lea strolled over to her and, bold as you please, pushed Dianna's legs apart a little more than they already were and settled herself in the space, her back to Dianna's front.

"Wh-what are you doing?" Dianna asked after she managed not to choke on her own saliva at Lea's actions.

"Getting comfortable, of course," Lea answered, simply.

"And damn, this is really comfortable. So soft. Her hair smells nice too. We could stay like this a-- hey! No, stop that this instant!"  Dianna managed to stop the thoughts before they got out of hand.

"There's a perfectly good spot on the other side of this couch." Dianna offered, body tense.

"This is true, but that spot is probably not as warm as this side of the couch so it won't be as comfortable. And I really think you'd be more comfortable if you stopped being so tense." Lea laughed softly.

"I'm not tense."

"Such a bad liar, Di." There was a pause. "Is there something wrong?"

Dianna was about to open her mouth to speak but Brad poked his head through the doorway and informed Lea that they were ready for her on set. Lea rolled her eyes, turned back to face Dianna and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before getting up.

"We'll talk later, okay? See you later, lady." She wiggled her fingers at Dianna and disappeared.

Dianna collapsed on the couch after she left.

---

If Dianna was pissed when she arrived to work, she was even more so after her little interaction with Lea. Here she was, Dianna Agron, trying to keep some semblance of control over her hormones and trying valiantly to move forward while Lea pranced about in her Rachel skirts and little caresses and it was just not fair! Dianna had been stomping around set like some toddler who had had her favorite toy taken away from her. The cast and crew had never seen her in such a state, usually she was such a gentle and sweet individual, and they didn't know how to react to it. They all settled for ducking away as fast and far away as they could if they spotted her heading in their direction. They all did wonder what got her in such a mood. Dianna did not get angry about anything.

Dianna was sitting on the couch in her trailer, her elbows propped up on her knees as she rested her head in her hands. Her brow was furrowed in concentration. Her day was obviously not going well. She'd already flubbed her lines 5 times today. She contemplated the next logical step. She could just keep avoiding Lea and being mad all day but that was too hard. And clearly, she wasn't a very good hider. She could go back to the way it used to be but that hurt too much. She couldn't sit next to Lea on their couch, watch movies and pretend that she didn't want to reach over and kiss her until she was dizzy. No, that wouldn't do at all.

She was about to hurl herself at the carpeted floor and throw a very unlady-like tantrum just to get it all out of her system when the door to the trailer flew open.

"Alright, Di! You've been stomping around the studio and terrorizing everyone today. And don't think I haven't noticed you've been trying to avoid me. I thought maybe that you were just having a bad day but I honestly can't even think about anything that would get you this upset. So what is it?" Lea didn't even stop for a breather, talking all the while she closed the trailer door, stood in front of Dianna with her hands on her hips.

And just like that, Dianna broke. She stood up and marched over to Lea, invading the brunette's personal bubble entirely.

"You really want to know?! Lea, you--"

"Surprise!!!"

Both girls turned to face the open door. Theo was standing in the doorway, his arms thrown out to the side as if making some grand entrance.

"Theo!" Lea exclaimed, in shock.

"Theo..." Dianna echoed, her mind reeling. She was just about to proclaim her love for this woman and this was the time he chose to show up. Great. For a second, Dianna thought that maybe this was the universe's way of telling her to not say anything. She scowled at being interrupted and then her heart broke into a million little pieces when Theo entered the trailer and scooped Lea up into a hug and a passionate kiss. The brunette was unresponsive at first but then tentatively began kissing Theo back when she realized that he was her boyfriend. The two broke apart after what seemed like an infinity (to Dianna).

Theo turned to the blonde and smiled," Hey Dianna. How are you?"

After a pause in which Dianna contemplated committing murder, she finally responded with,"Hi Theo. I'm well, thank you. I'm actually done here for the day and am getting a massive headache. I'll just..uhhh..grab my stuff and give you two some... some time...together...alone." Dianna was well aware that she was mumbling while she was talking and it was probably rude to have been talking while hurriedly looking for her purse but all she wanted was to get out of there as fast as possible and to not have to feel Lea's eyes on her anymore.

She said a quick goodbye and left the trailer. She got into her car and took the fastest route to the apartment. She wanted to get there before the waterworks began so she didn't have to worry about getting into a car crash and dying. That would be the dumbest way to go.

When she got to her and Lea's apartment, she went straight into her room, cuddled herself into her sheets and closed her eyes, letting the tears flow into the pillow. She hated feeling sorry for herself and she hated holing up in her room but it felt as if someone was cutting a limb off. It hurt.

She woke up three hours later and it was 9 pm. She still had time before she had to head out for her evening plans. It was a friday after all, 9 was still considered quite early in the evening. She padded into her washroom, washed her face and brushed her teeth. She changed into her skinny jeans, a white tanktop underneath a drapy black vest and black pumps. She hadn't realized anyone was home, thinking Lea and Theo had gone out to dinner and a club, and so she was extremely surprised to find the two on the couch, watching tv.

But not as surprised as Lea was when she took in Dianna's outfit.

"... Where are you off to?" she asked, trying to keep the curiosity out of her voice.

"Oh... I didn't think you guys were here." Dianna said and then realized she sounded guilty which she shouldn't so she pulled her shoulders back and looked at the couple on the couch." I have a date."

"Oh, good for you Di! Getting out there and mingling! You go, girl!" Theo encouraged her. Dianna gave him a small smile thinking to herself how on earth could Lea not see how gay this man was. He was shooting rainbows out of his eyes.

"I- I thought you were sick. I thought maybe you'd want to watch movies tonight." Lea said, her voice small.

And watch him stick his tongue down your throat the entire time? No, thank you. Dianna thought.

"I took some pills when I got home and had a bit of a nap. I haven't been out on a date in a long time. And I'm sure you two would like some time alone." Dianna said, her gaze fixed on Lea, daring her to say something. To tell her to stay.

"... Okay. Well... have fun. Be safe." Lea murmured.

"Thanks." Dianna replied, her throat clenching tightly. It was almost as if she was having trouble breathing.

Dianna exited the apartment feeling like she had just been burned.
