Title: Earthquakes (1/?)
Author: Missyrivera
Rating: Pg-13, for now
Word count: 1000-ish
Disclaimer: I own none of these people. Don't sue. Kay, thanks.
Summary: Based on Lea's tweet: "So the earthquake knocked me out of bed last night. I'm from New York people! I'm not used to this stuff!!!"

A/N: This was meant to fill a prompt at glee_fluff_meme in which Dianna seeks Lea out after the earthquake to comfort her but I changed it slightly. Multi-chapter fic. Pre-relationship. UST, pretty much. I've not written in ages and I'm not ashamed to say I'm quite rusty so feedback is appreciated. Unbeta'ed, will find one soon. Any and all mistakes are mine.

Something was wrong. Lea could feel it. The vibration setting on her phone wouldn't be able to shake her bed this hard. Not to mention she had left her cellphone on her nightstand so that couldn't possibly be--- oh! A particularly loud rumbling shocked her enough that, as she bolt upright, she fell off her bed. The earthquake was brief but strong enough to leave her shaking and contemplating if it was a good idea to cower under her bed until morning. She was from New York! Shit like this didn't happen there! She could feel herself getting a bit hysterical and she had half a mind to run around the house yelling,"Earthquake!" just to get it out of her system. But Dianna, nor their pissy neighbor, wouldn't appreciate that.

Dianna.

Lea untangled herself from the sheets that had fallen with her and padded out of her room. She made her way down the hall and didn't even hesitate as she came upon Dianna's bedroom door and quietly pushed the door open. "How can she be sleeping?! She's a lighter sleeper than I am!" Lea thought, begrudgingly. Then she took fully took in the blonde's sleeping form. Dianna was on her back, sheets covering her lower body, her right arm above her head while the left arm was thrown over her forehead. She grinned as she made her way to the bed and slowly crawled her way in. She snuggled herself closer to the blonde's left side, her arm going out to pull Dianna in by the waist.

Dianna felt the bed shift and opened her eyes to see Lea by her side.

"Mmm... Lea? What's wrong?" she asked, groggily.

"Earthquake. You slept through it but it freaked me out so I came in here. You don't mind, do you?" Lea asked, looking up at Dianna with puppy-dog eyes.

Dianna giggled," There's no need for the puppy dog expression, Lea. When have I ever minded?"

Lea chuckled," Well, there was that one time after we watched Paranormal Activity."

"Well, I'm sorry but you nearly kept us both awake the entire night imagining all the different ways a psycho killer might break into the house and cause our untimely deaths."

"Hey! I was only being cautious so that come morning time, we would be able to initiate all our plans at preventing any burglary or attempted homicides. It never hurts to be prepared."

"You do realize we aren't on set and that you don't have to be Rachel Berry right now, right?"

Lea blinked and hmph-ed but snuggled closer to Dianna. The pair fell silent for a while. Dianna was on the verge of falling back to sleep when Lea's voice brought her back to consciousness.

"Di?"

"Hmm?"

"Our alarm system is working, right?"

"Oh god..."

---

Dianna woke up the following morning feeling the weight of another body practically on top of her. Lea had somehow managed to get even closer during the night as she was draped over Dianna's left side. Lea's left leg tangled between the blonde's legs and Lea's face pressed against Dianna's neck. Dianna paused, not sure whether to move. There had been many times she had woken up like this with Lea and the over-whelming feeling of contentment and happiness always rattled her. This girl was her best friend and it was distracting to have such un-bestfriendly thoughts about Lea. It's been occurring too much as of late and it didn't help that Lea was the most touchy-feely person she's ever known. Something about growing up on Broadway but that information didn't help matters. Whenever the two were around eachother, touching and caressing always ensued and Dianna didn't want to get her hopes up but she couldn't help but notice that Lea wasn't this way with everyone else.

For a while, Dianna was content to let it play out. Best friends can touch, couldn't they? Not every little touch meant something but there would be a moment, whether it's Lea intertwining their fingers together or Lea resting her head on Dianna's shoulder, when Dianna had to fight every fiber in her being telling her to kiss Lea's hand or her lips. Lea was just naturally, physically expressive. She'd be appalled if she knew the thoughts flying around in Dianna's head.

Dianna sighed and moved to detangle herself from tan limbs but upon shifting, the brunette held on tighter and made a noise of disapproval.

"Lea, wake up."

"No..."

Dianna giggled," I'm going to make coffee but I need to get out of bed first."

"No..."

"You don't want coffee?"

"I do, but I want to snuggle with you more."

Dianna paused, wondering how to take in the this new piece of information.

"Okay, but you're making the coffee when we get up."
