i'm knowing that right now is all that matters
so i'm back from the OBX & have less than 4 days until i leave for charlottesville. i'm excited to go back to uva, but not quite as ecstatic as i expected to be earlier in the summer. it's too bad this summer turned out to be such a waste, which is why i'm happy that it's over, i'm just not sure i'm exactly ready to go back to school. somehow over the next few days i have to pack everything, run 48901 errands, learn spanish, see all my Ms for a final time, and fit everything i need into the van. but then once i get down to cville everything will be happy! i can finish setting up my new apartment, and finally see katherine(!!) and the rest of my girls, and start my second year, find a job, get back to the AFC, get involved with volunteering & forget about my waste of a summer! it'll be good for me to actually have things to do again, and to be busy, and to be able to get around and not be confined to my house all day. right now i don't see myself coming home to nova next summer, i think life could be easier for me if i stayed in cville. but i'll figure that out next spring, not important @ the moment!
hmmm i should write about the beach trip. it seemed different that the last couple years, more laid back i guess... even though makeda and miki have been gone for chunks of summer in the past, this seemed like the first year where TGS really just was not together for the summer. i don't really know how to describe the difference. but it was still a wonderful trip, lots of fun memories :) by the end of the week i had watched 10 episodes of dawson's creek [makeda's influence], spent about 15 hours just tanning [miki's influence], and slept way more than i should have [hannah's influence]. oh and watched about 30 hours of olympics. not that i am complaining, those swimmers = wow. i found lots of boyfriends for makeda, including the 16 year old boy driving the ice cream truck, the young shaggy haired boys down the street, the customers @ hooters, and the boy working the ice cream window. lucky makeda :) oh ps the house we stayed in was huge - we even got 2 rooms for the 4 of us this time! perhaps that's why i ended up sleeping so much. and there were tvs in every room, hence all the dawson's creek. very good end to the summer :)
