and i could live inside the shadow that i cast for you, if it meant that you would stay
so i've been home & doing a lot of nothing since last sunday afternoon. monday night i played with mer & tuesday i went shopping in manassas (waste of time). on wednesday hannah came home!!! we went to potomac mills then back to her house and played all night & visited the 24 hour giant & krispy kreme factory. then around 6 am i came home & bothered my mom & took a nap til noon. then i went back to the mall to get my gorgeous red coat. oh funny story. so wednesday when hannah & i were driving separately to her house, we went to the gas station, and she locked her keys in the car and we had to wait in my car for her dad to come unlock it. so then thursday hannah calls me @ 7.15 as i was leaving my house to go to barnes & noble in manassas, so instead i met her & lovenugget @ tyson's! and when the mall closed we went to silver diner, then the pretty new borders. so lovenugget drops me off back @ my car @ midnight, and it wouldn't start. way for me to leave the headlights on and not go back to my car @ any point. sooooo i checked my trunk & my jumper cables were gone, thanks to my dad "cleaning it out." and i called hannah who came to wait with me, but had no jumper cables. and i called lovenugget who had no jumper cables in his car or his house. and so i called AAA who told me there was "a lot of activity in that particular area" and it could take up to 4 hours. so hannah & i are just sitting in her car waiting @ 1 am when mall security drove by us so hannah honked at them and the mall security man saved us!!! we're smart ones :)
friday i got to play with mer's mom & help her set up for their hannakuh party, which was lots of fun! hannah & kyle & makeda & nicka & everyone came and it was a fun reunion :) saturday i saw my teen girl squad! we spent a lot of time @ miki's house and claudine & joce visited for awhile, and miki fell asleep around 10. but we woke her back up for awhile, then she & hannah went to sleep by 2, so makeda & i decided to go to krispy kreme. and from miki's house, krispy kreme is at the other end of the VA beltway, soooooo we took the maryland beltway back :) fun fun driving adventure. we finally got back around 4.20 & crashed after awhile. then i came home sunday and katherine finally called me back, after having lost her phone charger for days, so i talked to her for a long time. i actually don't miss uva yet, i'm glad to be back in nova :)
monday TGS got together for panera & gift exchange. supposed to meet @ 11.30, and i knew i'd be late, but i figured if i wasn't the last one, it was okay. ended up getting there @ 11.52, and miki showed up right before noon so all was good :) omigod then miki, hannah & i went to DSW, which i have not been to since september and i was in heaven. and i foung these gorgeous camel boots with black stitching that were absolutely perfect, but they didn't have my size :( so the plan is for me to go to fair oaks DSW & hope they have the boots in my size. i don't know if i can live without them. anyhow, the 3 of us saw "school of rock" since jack black is hannah's future husband, and it was so funny. the little kids were too cute! and jack black, so hot you know. then i played with hannah a little longer & we went to potomac mills again so she could get a coat too, and then i went to mer's around 9. and got to ride in her car!!!!! i feel v. special for being one of the first few people to ride w. her in her new car :) mer, i'm so proud of you!!! we went to fair oaks & admired purses, then went to borders to play since it was open until midnight. then, the most important part, i finally saw "pirates of the caribbean"!!! as amazing as everyone said it was, i didn't think a disney pirate movie would interest me @ all, but it was so good!!! and johnny depp was just wow. mmm. watched E! THS on him today, such a gorgeous man.
tuesday i forced mer to watch the babysitter's club with me (her sister's movie) & i realized just how weird it is. esp that part about stacey being 13 and dating the cute 17 year old guy. haha then in the end she goes "i'll be 14 next summer" and he's like "i know" ... and he'll be 18, very wrong. hmmm then i came home & went tanning & met the core @ hooters, then we went to kyle's to watch reality tv. it seriously felt just like high school still/again, but in a good way. like we all get along & have fun & do the same things together, and no one has changed drastically, in a katie firich kinda way.
it's really comforting to see all my friends from high school and have it feel like we haven't been separated for 4 months. the core hasn't changed, neither has teen girl squad, or nicka, or mer, or claudine. and even with people i've barely spoken to since going to college, i don't feel like i've lost much of our friendships. and i do plan on keeping in touch much better next semester, but it's still nice that i don't feel like i've lost anything here. the only group i haven't seen yet are my cheer girl erohws, who i hopefully will see this week. i need to number the days i have so that i stop wasting time bumming around my house & sleeping in when i should be seeing my friends and making the most of winter break. i definitely have new year's eve to look forward to :)
