German Invasion

Busy, busy weekend. Oliver has 2 friends in Germany (wives of his friends, that is) and we spent a whirlwind weekend entertaining them. They’re great girls, so it really was no trouble.

Friday, I met up with an old friend from high school and realized what a different person I’ve become. Wow!

Saturday: Alex and Niko arrived. After a little brunch, I left them in Oliver’s hands to go to my sorority’s annual gathering. It’s the one time of year we all get together and hang out. It was then that I realized that I haven’t changed much at all. :)

Sunday: I sent Oliver out with the girls and prepared a world-class meal. Can we say Beef Wellington and homemade mashed potatoes? I also baked some cookies and made a birthday cake for Niko. We had an early dinner before we poured out the door to go to Spring Awakening. Loved, loved, loved the show. The Germans loved it too, since it’s based on a very well-known German play.

Monday: Off to Woodbury Commons. Olli and I had the day off for MLK, so we took the ladies to Woodbury Commons for the day. I believe the four of us infused enough money into the development to keep the stores in business for the next year. I bought a TON of stuff at Ann Taylor, a Kate Spade purse, pjs at Eddie Bauer….you get the picture. It was $300 of retail therapy. Worth every penny.

Niko and Alex are leaving late on Saturday, so we’re giving them a “farewell” dinner at Itzocan Café on Friday night. (I maintain it is the best Mexican food in New York City.) They bought me a spa pass as a thank you, so I’m going to use it on Saturday with them. Woohoo! Manicure, pedicure, facial, and a 60 minute massage - here I come.

I’ll sleep when I’m dead!
