Dear Yuletide Author

Hi there! Well, this is my first Yuletide so to be completely honest I am just so excited to be involved that I'll most likely love whatever you write for me, which hopefully makes your life a little bit easier ;D

As you'll probably have already determined from my requests, I basically love fic about feeeeeeelings. My favourite thing is to get inside characters heads and explore things that may not be explicitly dealt with onscreen/in text etc. Or that expands on what we already know. So anything that does that will make me happy.

Things I don't like: Unnecessary character bashing (it just detracts from the story and really there's no need for it.) I'd really prefer you stay away from noncon (rape) or dubcon.

Otherwise I'm fairly okay with most things, including explorations of darker topics such as mental illness, self injury etc. My only stipulation is that there be some basis for it in the canon of the character. If there's little to support/suggest that these issues might be relevant for the character then it's probably best to steer clear. (But I wouldn't find it entirely out of place or unbelievable for any of the characters I've requested really, so if that's what takes your fancy, go for it.)

The Year of Secret Assignment by Jaclyn Moriarty | Cassie Aganovic: "I'd really love anything that digs deeper into Cassie's feelings. Perhaps the aftermath of her dad's death? Or delving into the history of her friendship with Lydia and Emily? But whatever works for you really!"

This should be fairly self explanatory really! I think of all the girls, Cassie is probably the one we get lease insight into simply because she's much more reserved and closed off than Emily or Lydia who tend to wear their feelings on their sleeves. But Cassie is such a gorgeous character and she's been through so much so I'd love to know a little more about what goes on in her head. If you have ideas other than her dad's death or her friendship with Lyd and Em then please feel free to go there. I'd definitely love Lydia and Emily to be in the fic though in whatever form, simply because they're an integral part of Cassie's life and her own sense of self even.

.

Revenge | Amanda Clark/Emily Thorne: "I'd really love to know more about Amanda in the aftermath of her dad's arrest and especially her time in the children's institution and/or juvenile detention. Bonus points if you can weave some history about her friendship with Jack as a little girl."

Again with the feeeeeelings really. How did she cope after his arrest? What did she talk about in therapy? At what point did she stop believing in him? Anything that explores Amanda's childhood after her dad's arrest will make me insanely happy basically.

.

So Much to Tell You by John Marsden | Marina Jamison: "Honestly, I'll take anything! But ideally I guess I'd love to see how Marina continued to progress at school and with her friends after finally confronting her father. Essentially I'm just looking for what happened next!"

This request is such a long shot so I genuinely mean it when I say I'll take anything! Want to give me more detail on her life before the accident or her parents relationship? Go right ahead. If you want to fill in gaps or add more detail to any of her time at school throughout the book, that's cool too! Marina is a fascinating, complex and heartbreaking character. Her strength and her journey throughout the book has stayed with me since I first read it so anything more would be wonderful.

.

The Good Wife | Alicia Florrick, Kalinda Sharma (friendship): "Anything involving Alicia and Kalinda dealing with the rift in their friendship would be fantastic! I'd love to see them BFFs again but I'd also be fine without a happy ending so long as they address their conflict in some way."

Basically I just really miss them being friends, and though I can kind of understand the realism to them simply staying out of each other's way this season, I still feel like they should be addressing their issues in some way. I'd love it if they got drunk and had it out or one of them reached out to the other to try and mend the fences. Anything to break this stalemate they've got going on. Or anything else that takes your fancy really. They had such a great friendship so anything about them would be great.

.

I hope this has been helpful and has given you some ideas or starting points! I'm really happy to be involved with Yuletide this year so I'm pretty sure my excitement will be enough to keep me satisfied with anything you write for me! ;D

Thank you so much! <3
