MUCC were freaking awesome. Definitely, definitely worth freezing my ass off for 6 hours and almost getting frostbite. :'D I swear, even last night when I came home my toes were still cold. |D;;; That's bad, right~?
WHATEVER. MUCC MADE IT WORTH IT. I said they better be worth it, and damn did they deliver.
IF ANYONE HAS THE CHANCE TO SEE THEM IN LA, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! YOU WON'T BE SORRY~!
Where to begin. Omg. :D I'll start with waiting in line I guess.
I got there around noon and meet up with someone from the JRR forums, Aki. They (the fans) numbered the first 50 people, so Aki was 37. ...so I just put a 37.5 on my hand. XD It didn't matter later anyways. BUT WHATEVER.
Then I saw Shu, so I sat down by him and another girl whose name I can't remember Angela :D. I remember her friend who came later was named Robbie.
xenylamine (Jack~~ ♥) got there around 4ish I guess? Aha, she was coldddd with no gloves on~. ♥ ILU.
Shu. Who had way too much energy. He was running around like, all day. o_O;;
Aki~! :D Wearing my scarf to keep her warm, I had another one. XDD
In front of us, line around noon.
Line was fun. Got up and walked around a lot, I was a big blob of white. XD White jacket, white blanket~
I love seeing people in line who I know. I know, but they don't know me~ XD The Yukke cosplayer was there, Kei, and the guy who cosplays Miya I think? Austin. Saw Roger from Tainted Reality, and let me say, he looks so different in just jeans and a sweatshirt. XD I remember him from AUSA and Versailles in NYC and he was all nice and fancy then, but here he looked so different. Easy to tell it was him though. Saw Matt from Tainted Reality, and that girl whose name I still don't know. x_x
I just love seeing people I recognize from other shows~ oh, saw the two girl MUCC cosplayers too :D On the way home, with them and 2 other girls, the 5 of us shared a cab back to Penn Station. ^____^
Around 5pm they separated the lines, into LiveNation ticket holders and non-LiveNation. That was interesting. It was like a mad rush to the other side of the venue line. :P When I got up there to be let in, the guy was like, "Hey, should we let some people from the other side in, they've been waiting a while..." AND I WAS JUST LIKE OMG HELL NO, NOT WHEN IT'S MY TURN!!! DX But someone else said LiveNation people got in first, that was the rules~
No cameras, as expected. I had to coat check my coat + blanket. >_<;; Whatever.
When I got in there it wasn't too bad yet, so I was able to get a good spot. :D Started out right behind Matt from TR, AND WTF, HOW DO I ALWAY END UP BEHIND HIM?! AT VERSAILLES TOO, WTF!!! DX Butttt I didn't care, knew the crowd would move anyway, and I was right, I ended up more to the right, basically right in front of Tatsurou~~~~~~~~
I was about 3 rows back, with 2 short girls in front of me by the end so I was happy and able to see pretty well. Kept eating other peoples hair, but I lived.
First, the opening band.
The Mercurial. They were actually pretty good. 100x better than The Human Abstract, for sure. I actually liked them and would willing listen to their music. XD The singer reminded me of Gabe from Cobra Starship so much~ so in his singing really, but just in his personality. The singer was so fun~ :D He jumped down and in front of the barricade and towards the ending songs, had us sing a bit. It was just going, "Woah woah woah" but he put the mic in front of different people for them to sing, and it was just a lot of fun. :D I liked them. ^_^ I approve~. I need to go download some of their stuff. :3 ♥
Then MUCC came on around 8:45. ♥ OALSDJFLASDLFLSADJFLASLDFLS.
Satochi came out first, of course. During the set I tried to watch him, but the cymbal was in front of his face the whole time so I hardly saw him. D: Saddddd.
Then Yukke and Miya came out, and finally, Tatsurou.
OMG. I COMPLETELY FORGOT HIS HAIR WAS LONG AND FREAKED OUT UPON SEEING HIM. OMG. HE LOOKS SO GOOD!!! ♥ They were all wearing heavy eye make-up too~ I liked it though. :3 But Tatsu's long hair, omgggggggggggggg. *dies* ♥ So amazing. So beautiful. None of them had their hair really done, either. Tatu's was just straight black. Miya, idk, but but the end it was sticking up everywhere from sweat. XD Yukke's hair stayed pretty flat the entire time. And like I said, heavy dark black circles around all of their eyes. By the encore though, Yukke whipped his face clean~. ♥
I was honestly so completely satisfied with the setlist, you don't understand. They played pretty much every song I ever could have wanted to hear, I was so happy. ♥ :) I feel like it was a nice mix of new and older songs, heavy and light. It was a very good mix.
When FUZZ came on, I feel the energy level in there just went up so much. Everyone was so into it when FUZZ came one. :D FUZZ is one of my favorite songs~ Hearing Tatsu on the harmonica, seeing Yukke with his standing up bass, it's just so amazing. Definitely an incredible song to hear live, even better than at Taste of Chaos!! Tatsu + Harmonica = Love.
I loved hearing Ageha live too, it's just so...wow. Hard and beautiful at the same time. They also played Aoi Mori off of the Ageha single, which I was pleased about. :D During this part:
1. ego
2. sonzai jikan kakemawari
3. negai
4. saga dore wo daite nerou ka
and the other parts where things are listed in numbers like that, Tatsu counted off on his fingers and I thought that was really cool.
I feel like the band enjoyed themselves a lot too. The energy on stage was great. The head banging, which was epic on Tatsu's part (his long hair makes for great head banging), the jumping around, Miya and Yukke switching spots often enough.
I distinctly remember during one part earlier in the set, when just Tatsu and Yukke were moving around, I believe Tatsu hit his head on the neck of Yukke's bass? XD And I feel like later one, when all 3 of them were spinning around, Yukke almost hit Tatsu but they just barely missed colliding. Anyone else remember seeing that?
During the middle of the set, when they played D.O.G. I believe, omg, FTW. :DDDDD At Irving Plaza, it's set up so there's a stage, then to the left (stage right), there's this... high up ledge thing, about a foot below the balcony. So in the middle of the song, Tatsu climbed up there like the monkey he clearly is~ XDDDDDD He was standing up there, singing, all of us looking over there~ the people in the balcony trying to reach for him. Then he sat down, dangling his feet over the edge of the thing and people tried to reach up, until he picked his feet up. Omg, it was so much win~~~! :D Then watching him try to get down, haha. He stepped onto the box that was there, which wasn't near the stage at all, then he just jumped back onto the stage from about 5 feet in the air maybe? It seemed high enough. And he just jumped~~ XD I love him.
What song they played which I did not expect at all but absolute love: Bouzenjishitsu. I was so freaking happy, I was almost ready to cry with joy right then. XD I NEVER expected them to play that!! OMG. It was...♥ A song I definitely wanted to hear live very badly. :)
During one song, which I cannot remember which song it was right now, Ranchuu, Tatsurou had us sit down for a minute. XD Literally, he told us all to sit down and wouldn't do anything until we all sat. ...of course, us in the front being squished really couldn't sit. I ended up sitting on someone's knee, I think, I don't even know. Then he told us to jump up at a certain point. It was fun~
I must comment on their outfits as well. Win. They always all look so comfortable on stage. Miya was just in a T-shirt and what looked like to me PJ pants. They were big and baggy, and were black with a purple spiderweb design on them. Yukke too had on a T-shirt, green, and baggy pants. He had one of his long sweater things over it too. Satochi, from what I saw of him, I liked his outfit. It was an interestingly blue top. Tatsu now~ ♥ All black. On his left ankle he wore bracelets, so his pants were pushed up there. None of them, except Sato, wore shoes, as usual~ ♥
There was an encore, of course. And I think this is when Tatsu came out holding something in his hands, and we all wondered what he was doing. (They all came out wearing tour shirts. ...but the shirts sold were from the International Taste of Chaos tour. :P)
So Tatsu's holding this...silver thing in his hands, and at first I thought it was his DS. Honestly. XDD It looked like he was playing DS. XDDDD But it was an electronic dictionary. XDDDD So he pushes some buttons, and points to himself, and says slowly, "He's selfish." And we all laugh. XD Next: "He's simple minded." ♥ XDDD Tatsu~~~ THEN. Even better. "*points to Yukke, who isn't paying attention* "He's fresh." XDD What does that even mean~? Haha. Next he put the dictionary away, and had Haribo candies in his hand!!! :D "I like Haribo. Do you like Haribo?" Us: "YESSSSSS! :D" Tatsu then opened the back and started throwing gummy bears into the audience~~~ ♥ XDD Win. Epic win. I caught the first one he threw. :D It was a cherry flavor and yummy~~ lol, yes, I ate it. What was I supposed to do with it!! XD He then just threw the rest of the bag out, idk who caught that. :P
Libra was the last song played, and I feel it was a good song to play last. It's just...such a good song to end with, idk. :)
I didn't catch anything useful this time, sadly, and when I asked about the set... they said they couldn't give it to me, and I didn't even see it, so I couldn't be like, "THERE IT IS!" XD;;;
When I did go to the merch table I saw one of the guys who caught a drum stick, so I was able to see it up close. Definitely not as cool as Shinya's drumstick. |D It was just basic wood color, and on the handle there was soft padding so I guess Sato doesn't kill his hands. :P It didn't even say MUCC - Satochi, I don't think. :| But it was still cool. :D One day I will get a guitar pick. One day, maybe~.
Mmkay. So after that was the autograph singing.
I'm on the MUCC Street Team and helped promote them, so I got an e-mail saying after the singing I could meet them... so I tried to ask the venue people about that but they had no idea. -_- I finally asked one girl and she went and got a list of people who were allowed in after afterwards, so she found my name on the list and gave me a thing that said, "After Show NYC Irving Plaza" ...but I still had no idea what to do, so I just got in the autograph line.
I was the last one in line for a while, until 2 other girls came behind me~ XD Found out one of the girls was Midori, who translated for Versailles at AUSA I think? Idk. But I've heard her name before.
So while we were waiting, the last ones, this Japanese guy, I think maybe it was their manager or something? Comes up to us and past Midori and her friend, hands me something. I just took it, not really knowing what it was, but it was the setlist!!! o_O Um, okay...? XDDD WTF!! XD It was so random!!!! I have no idea why he handed it to me, that's so weird~~~ But I'm so happy~! :D I did ask for it earlier, but what's the chance he knew it was me who asked for it, ya know? So weird. But I'm not complaining. :D
Yaz was the one in charge, it seemed like, and after everyone else got autographs, she said to MUCC how the rest of us waiting there were on the Street Team or something and helped promote, idk, I don't know Japanese. -_-;; But something like that. XD It was pretty cool, not being like, rushed through a line or something. :P
I had MUCC sign the setlist I just got. :D
They almost seemed a bit surprised I had it, lol. XD And I asked for hugs from everyone~~~ XDDDDD;;; I couldn't help it. Why not, ya know? But I didn't hug Miya at first, just shook his hand.
Satochi was wearing
this shirt, which for some reason just made me really happy. They all changed outfits again for the signing. A few people got pictures with them then, but they were all in groups and I was kinda by myself, so I didn't get in a picture with MUCC, sadly. :'D The table was pushed away then, and before we all left, I went up and hugged Miya too. :) So I got a hug from all of them, which makes me happy. It was fun.

The venue doors were closed, so all of us went out the back door, which is the door I guess MUCC leaves through, because people were waiting out there for them...! I remember it, because that's the door we waited for Tokio Hotel to come out. XD But since I obviously was just with MUCC, no need to wait~. Yay~.
I was afraid of how I was getting back to Penn by myself so late at night, but thankfully, some of the girls who were still there, (including 2 of the MUCC cosplayers) were all going back to Penn as well so the 5 of us split a cab. :D They all went to Amtrak though, and I to the LIRR. In the LIRR though, I saw more people who were at MUCC so I went and sat with then. XD Turns out we were on the same train back home, so I sat with them on the train and talked, it was fun. I like meeting people at shows like this, because chances are, we'll meet again~.
I'm trying to think of all the Jrock shows I've been to, and I must say, MUCC is definitely up there. Better than Dir en Grey, for sure. I'd see MUCC before I saw Diru again~. I still think Versailles were better than MUCC, but just because they're so...magical. MUCC are awesome, but in a different way. They're much more touchable and reachable, down to earth guys that you can relate to. (:
