Wednesday, we were up in Wichita for my physical when we got a call saying my new glasses were in. I think I like them, even though they need to be made a little smaller so they don't fall down on my nose. The physical went nicely, too...They have these great massage chairs that you can sit in while waiting, so I had some fun.
We went garage saling (I'm never sure how to spell that; I should probably say "garage sale shopping") on Thursday and it was a disappointment. All baby stuff. We DID find 2 nice bikes for my mom and dad, so now we can all bike as one big, happy family. How quaint. :)
I started this mad cross-stitching project. It's a huge Jayhawk that says "Rock Chalk," and I'll never get it done, but that's okay. I didn't really have anything cool to make; I just wanted to have some old-lady-ish skill to keep my hands busy while listening to the staff training tapes and driving to Pinecrest. Oh, that reminds me - I also applied for the preteen camp in Oklahoma in late July, and I went ahead and applied for counselor. It's scary b/c I'm tentative about giving up my free nights there and spending every waking moment with boy-crazy little girls...but I figure that it'll be good for me, and it's a lot safer than being counselor at a longer teen camp. Four days? I can take it. I hope there are lots of fun teen staff members there this year.
Oh! We--me, Bethany, Kara, Aunt Kristy, and Jess--are putting together a piece for Pentecost, and I think we might do it at Pinecrest for the Sabbath. Well, Aunt Kris won't be there, but we can either add Katie Anderson or just sing it with four, so I'm glad we can do that. See, Jessica wanted me to sing "The King of Love My Shepherd Is" with her for the Sabbath, but that means that I'd have solo parts, and I was like, "No thank you!" I hate singing solos, especially at camp. Scary.
