Trailer for Kripke's new series Revolution...although probably not surprisingly they're pimping it as being by JJ Abrams and directed by Jon Favreau! What don't they think "from the creator of the CWs Supernatural is a big drawcard. LOL ( Read more... )

I'm excited for this show too! I'm slightly disappointed that they had the Heroes's earth thing going in the title scene, but I'm pumped for Charlie as a leading lady! Does it seem weird that Charlie is looking for the guy who played Charlie in Twilight? :D

So there is another necklace of importance... doesn't look like they can forget this one as easily as the god finding Samulet.

Ditto! It's been a turn-on for me since LOTR, and I'm very pleased to see so much of it recently. Bonus points for any character using a traditional longbow!

I'll watch too.

But for the life of me I don't understand how a hack like JJ Abrams, after all his failed/ cancelled/ messy-and-kind-of-bad shows, is still a big name. Sure, Lost was a hit (and the credit for that goes to people who are not Abrams; and yes, Lost, IMO, wasn't all that either), and his his movies made a lot of money, but they were a mess! No cinematography, bad scripts etc. And still... he is considered a bigger name than Whedon, at least he was before The Avengers, when Abrams and Whedon were shopping around some project.

I. Just. Don't. Get. It.

But yeah, new show... I'll try it.

Interestingly I saw Abrams and Whedon in a session at Comic Con in 2010. Great contrast in modes of operating. Whedon is someone who wants to be involved in all aspects of his creative projects - which of course means he does a lot fewer projects. Abrams otoh is someone who is happy to have the creative visions and establish a project and then hand it over to be run by others - think LOST and Fringe. So i think Abrams appears to have more shows that haven't made it simply because hes got more up and running. Whedon of course had success with Buffy and Angel (and Dr Horrible as a minor one) and then mishits with Firefly and Dollhouse.

from Kripke's POV, having Abrams on board got him a couple of mill for the pilot, Jon Favreau as a director and a Monday night slot on NBC, so I'm pretty sure he's happy!
