oh definitely parallels with the mainstream coverage of any subculture. Of course i think often they are simply used as fodder for "look at the weirdo" plots on TV shows. Whereas here I felt that we were being owned as part of what the show is.

wow dude...color me impressed. You drew a corellating (sp?) line between the actual "monster at the end of this book" book and how SPN may turn out using Sam as Grover. You win the F*cking Internet. and it actually makes me hopeful for the show ending on a good note.
