Such a good META! I'll be pondering over this, and I like the thought of this Season being a remix of Season 1, I do see some similarities, especially now you've mentioned it *rubs chin*

Thank you! Of course you could say the whole show is really about these two men and their search for themselves (and each other!)

Thank you so much for writing this.

You raise some excellent points, especially in terms of why Sam has come to trust Ruby, and the parallel between seasons 1 and 4. This episode was so dense with meaning that I expect it to generate a million metas.

(BTW, I'm cleaning my bookmarks folder, so I'm friending you, since I love your journal and check it often, I hope it's OK.)

There have already been so many great metas from this season and expect the next episode will give us many more.

And thank you for friending. Make yourself at home!

I'm glad you managed to put into words so much of what I was thinking.

I thought there was much symbolism about where boys' relationship is now in the wound tending scene. Sam is able to tend to his own wounds now, although he still asks for help from Dean. And Dean is more willing to let Sam look after himself, and to ask for and accept help from Sam for himself.

That had completely passed me by, but yes, that really did illustrate well where they are now.

See that what i love about this show, they can have a scene that is well, hot and satisfying in a gratuitous manpain way, and its also chock full o'symbolism

Such an awesome meta! thank you! I haven't thought all about their current situation and where they at, before I read this. It puts some things into place which helps me a lot.

I think we shouldn't be so judgmental about Sam screwing Ruby but actually about the mental place he was when he lost EVERYTHING that meant something to him. Basically he lost his life and willing to live. (hard wincest subtext) And he practically says out to Dean that he needed someone like Dean, he was so wounded.

Oh boys... It's so fucking deep MJ!

I'm on my heels to know where the story evolves.

Thank you. And yes, I think Sam's grief explains so much about how he progressed in his relationship with Ruby. And I like that he wasn't just all 'oh hi Ruby nice to see you', she had to work at it.

and i cant wait for more of this season!

You know, when Ruby was possessing that secretary, and Sam asked him if she can help him to get Dean back... And she said no. Sam wasn't going to chit-chat with Ruby about her time in Hell. He just wanted her OUT!. So obviously there was only ONE thin in Sam's mind and that was Dean.

Also I think if you loose your brother or your family you mourn and you are devastated... but what we saw here... Sam LOST it. And I think everybody can see the difference. What Dean means to Sam. I can't even imagine what could have happened if Dean would still be in Hell. Probably Sam would be dead by now.

Oh boys, EPIC LOVE I'm telling ya!!!! Now let's see some actions, shall we? ;)
